Dr. Joseph Khoury, MD

We first saw Dr. Khoury at Shriners in Tampa, and happily followed him to Nemours in Lakeland. Truthfully, we would be willing to make the trip nearly anywhere to be able to continue receiving medical care for our daughter from Dr. Khoury. He is a fantastic doctor and surgeon, and is the sole reason our daughter was able to avoid major bilateral hip surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Khoury for his expertise, surgical success, and his willingness to listen and answer any and all questions. Additionally, he clearly cares for his patients, and wants the best for them. He is excellent!

We first visited Dr. Khoury in 2021 at Shriners Hospital and were so impressed by the care he provided that we continued to see him at Nemours, even though it was an extra hour's drive. Dr. Khoury meticulously avoided surgery for as long as possible, hoping that our son's hip issues would resolve naturally. Eventually, he performed a minimally invasive surgery when it became clear that a surgical intervention was necessary. While initial x-rays showed improvement on one side, the other side later required a more comprehensive procedure. Throughout this process, Dr. Khoury demonstrated exceptional patience and attentiveness, responding promptly to our numerous questions, whether through the app or in person. He consistently prioritized non-invasive options and was never overbearing. The surgeries resulted in minimal bruising and quick recoveries. Moreover, his support team at Nemours, including the PAs, nurses, and administrative staff, was outstanding in their professionalism and care.

Dr. Khoury and staff at the ortho nemours in lakeland was awesome! So friendly and welcoming. My daughter wore stitch ears and the office staff loved it and even showed her there stitch collection. My daughter wasn't nervous or scared one bit once she started talking to them. They don't do unnecessary things and they discuss everything with the parent and make sure we are apart of the plan.

Dr. Khoury has treated my daughter for years. He has done surgery on her and has been very professional since day 1. His team is amazing, including his P.A. They take the time to explain everything to us and always answers our questions and concerns.

My son broke his hand that amazed the ER staff due to the rarity that which his hand had been broken. We followed up with Dr. Khoury and he told us that he has never conducted this type of surgery on a hand, but he was willing to give it his best. After we discussed the operation, I had all my faith that he could successfully do the surgery. He agreed to try, and the results were phenomenal. This man is exceptional at what he does, this includes his knowledge in every aspect of his specialty. His staff made our process so pleasant. Hats off to you and your staff, Dr. Khoury! I wish all physicians shared the passion you have for helping children.

Dr. Khoury went above and beyond with my child. He was our second opinion, and honestly should've been our first opinion. In all actuality, he saved our child's life from a severe bone infection, that was on the verge of making our child septic. Due to his attention to detail and quick action, our child is making a quick and full recovery.

My son developed a severe infection of his hip that requires surgery to treat. He recovered quickly and regained his life. Thanks Doctor K!

Unless you are looking for surgery, avoid this doctor. Don’t question his recommendations, which are either surgical intervention or absolutely nothing, or he’ll get annoyed, tell you to find another doctor and proceed to leave the room without allowing you to say a word. I have never in my life encountered such unprofessionalism and rudeness in my life. I don’t recommend him at all. He is not interested in helping your child unless big money is involved (surgery.)

Just an amazing and kind doctor and person. So good with children and parents, has excellent bedside manner, great with explaining things to kids and parents, just overall fantastic, we travels over 6 hours to come to see him.

Dr. Khoury discovered hip dysplasia in my 16-month-old daughter. Today she is 24 months old and she walked again and recovered excellently. Seeing and speaking with Dr. Khoury was a calming experience for me in the difficult process. He is like an angel who will protect, fix and heal your child. He and his team at Nemours Children's Hospital in Lakeland are very professional, all visits are punctual and always very kind to explain everything clearly and honestly about what to expect at each stage of process. Highly recommended, you will never regret placing your child in the hands of Dr Khoury. Super grateful !

We have been with dr. Khoury since our daughter was 3 months and will continue to be with him! He is very efficient and thorough, he Will stay in the room with you and answer all questions you have and will not leave until you understand everything he’s saying. He’s the best doctor !

TOP NOTCH professional! Outstanding! My son has CP (spastic diplegia), went through few surgeries since he was 1 y/o. Now we just did the last surgery at 16 y/o with Dr Khoury. He improved his walking pattern to almost 100% normal. My son is now ready to join his high school cross country running team. Couldn't be any happier with his results. Dr Khoury and his staff are wonderful! My daughter has been seeing him since she was 1 week old, and is now 7 months old, for her right unilateral clubfoot. She’s been doing great! Throughout the treatment process Dr Khoury and his staff were knowledgeable, kind, understanding, and helpful. It’s not the easiest process to go through, but having a great team like them makes it so much easier. We now look forward to our follow ups, and after all the casting and bracing, I cant wait to see her take those first precious steps!

When my granddaughter Louise was born with a severe clubfoot, I was beside myself. To see her little tiny foot twisted like a pretzel was more than this Nana heart could bear. At her first meeting with Dr. Khoury, my daughter Tricia sung his praises. He reassured her that he could fix Louise's foot and everything would be fine. At the age of 2.5, Louise has just completed her surgeries and treatments with Dr. Khoury. Now I have to chase my princess as her little legs and perfectly healed and corrected foot takes her running across the yard. My heart is overflowing! To say Dr. Khoury is an amazing doctor is just not enough. He is more than just a doctor. He is a healer, a creator and a restorer. God Bless him!!

Dr. Khoury has treated our daughter since she was only a few weeks old. Born with an undiagnosed bilateral club foot, we were shocked and scared upon seeing her sweet little crooked foot. We were referred to Shriners and Dr. Khoury was who became our pediatric orthopedist. I thank my lucky stars every time we see him that he was assigned to Louise. We moved halfway through Lou’s treatment with the Ponsetti method, and we were less than impressed with the care we received elsewhere. We moved back to Tampa and were so relieved that Dr. Khoury would be our specialist once again. He is kind, knowledgeable, understanding, brilliant. He is truly the best doctor we’ve ever had the honor of working with. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Khoury for anyone seeking orthopedic treatment for their child. He’s the best of the best.

Dr. Khoury gave our son a miracle. Born with cerebral palsy, he was still crawling at the age of six. He had surgery last July and walks with mostly with a walker but is also walking short distances without any devices. Dominick is the middle of 5 athletic boys and wanted to be engaged in sports activities like his brothers. Thanks to Dr Khoury's surgical expertise, he now plays baseball and soccer and is still improving on his journey to independence. I cannot express the difference he has made

Best Ortho EVER!!! I highly recommend getting his opinion before committing to anything!! We were told that "best case scenario" our 7 month old would have to have back surgery, we went to 3 different hospitals/doctors for second opinions. Dr. Khoury was the ONLY Dr. who had a diagnosis AND an option for non invasive treatment. We did the Mehta Casting procedure, which was no walk on the park, BUT way way better than BACK SURGERY ON A BABY! and less than 2 years later we have a straight spine.
