Left with concerns
Visited Dr. Gaut’s department and left with concerns about the integrity of leadership and support systems. There have been troubling reports of misconduct within Washington University’s Pathology & Immunology department, along with systemic failures to address these issues. One graduate student’s experience highlighted delays in action, inadequate support, and unresolved consequences for the accused, raising serious questions about the department's priorities. While Dr. Gaut doesn’t appear directly involved, the overall environment left me disappointed—it didn’t seem like honesty, accountability, or creating a safe space for students and patients were priorities here.

Seemed knowledgeable
Seemed knowledgeable and provided adequate care during my visits. The facility was clean, and the staff was mostly friendly. However, I sometimes felt rushed during my visits, and there were occasional long wait times despite having scheduled my visit in advance. I appreciate the care I received but believe there's room for improvement in communication and time management. Would consider revisiting but also open to exploring other physicians.

Overall experience was not a positive one. His bedside manner left much to be desired. Felt rushed during my appointments as if my concerns were a burden, hindering effective communication and treatment planning. He came across as dismissive when I tried to discuss my symptoms and concerns. Rather than taking the time to listen and offer thoughtful guidance, he seemed eager to move on to the next patient. What struck me most was his condescending and sanctimonious attitude. I found this to be counterproductive and disheartening, especially when one seeks medical advice in a vulnerable state. I believe effective healthcare relies on both medical skill and quality interaction with patients, and based on my experience, he seemed lacking in the latter.
