He doesn't even deserve a even 1 star.
He is the worst doctor me and my husband ever seen. He makes you feel rush, doesn't listen to patients, he doesn't do the right diagnose. My husband told him, he feels tired sometimes instead of the diagnose it, he rushes to give antidepressants to almost everyone!!Do not visit his practice, he is a really really bad doctor. Missouri health care department needs to investigate this doctor, something is really wrong with him.

More ego than brains
Staff is kind. Dr is not. He is cherry picking clients. I have a chronic condition and it seemed to be too much work for him. He also bends the truth a bit Saying I left him when he is the person who changed his location making it more difficult to reach him without assistance then makes himself the victim when patient goes to his prior office which is more accessible for some patients. I no longer trust him because he states I left him when it was he who left the patients in the office near the hospital.

Cares about his patients
I have been a patient for a few years now and from day one have felt very comfortable and in capable hands with Dr. Eckelkamp. He is patient and actually takes the time to listen, explains options and doesn't rush you in and out. I would highly recommend his practice.

No care in health here
As many others have said condescending and dismissive. Ecklekamp was extremely curt when I questioned him about a medicine he recommended. I asked three times to get a colonoscopy scheduled and the never sent referral. Never called back with other test results.

So far I’ve really had a good experience with Dr Eckelkamp. He is talking to my other specialists (gastro, endo, neuro) to work on all my chronic conditions. I’m 100lbs overweight and I know it so I tend to just come out with it when I go to the doctor. He was so nice and said basically that until this other conditions are better controlled, there’s nothing we can do about the weight. Now thanks to him my conditions are better controlled and I am losing weight. The only area where he struggles a bit is communication. Staff aren’t super good about taking phone calls nor he with the online chart. But persistence pays off.

Dr. Eckelkamp has been my primary care physician for about four years and I trust him wholeheartedly. Since our first conversation, he has been attentive and empathetic, eager to identify my needs, and offer suggestions. For example: As someone in the first half of their life, I was surprised to learn that I have high blood pressure. Of course, Dr. Eckelkamp asked about my physical activity and diet, willing to prescribe medication, as needed. But then he paused and, with tenderness, asked about my mental health, just checking to see if everything was going okay. I've never had a doctor take the time for that kind of discussion, and it meant a lot to me that he asked. He even gave me a few tips on what he'd like to see me do to help make the next half of my life a healthy one. As I grow older, I'm happy to have Dr. Eckelcamp grow with me. He is well informed on the latest in healthcare, ensures comfort and confidence in his patients, and I simply cannot recommend him enough.

Engaged me in a discussion about discontinuation of tobacco use. He attempted to invoke shame, literally ignored me when I said, "That doesn't motivate me, but the fact that I don't always feel good when I do it does cause me to think about quitting." It was like I hadn't even said it. He said, "Yeah, but when your kids get older, what about that?" .... I let him keep going, said that I heard him, and then decided that I wouldn't come back. There was a $20 charge on my bill for that, btw.

Prescribed expensive medication that sent me to the ER. Then placed the blame for the horrible side effects on the depression that I was never tested for with proper psychometric tools and neglected to find me a psychiatrist in a timely manner. Lost three days of my life dealing with the side effects of his prescription and had to go to the ER twice. Would not recommend.
