Lucky to have him
Dr. Diaz is my first primary care doctor. He was a resident when I first saw him. Then I transferred my care to KP and ended up returning to UCSD. He remembered me after a few years have passed and I was glad to have him back as my PCP. At every visit, he has always been empathetic and an active listener, also professional and thorough. I appreciate his longevity staying at the same hospital. I have met many uncaring, dismissive doctors who aren't willing to help or doctors who are very nice, yet not very helpful. Dr. Diaz is definitely neither of those two. He is one of the reasons I'm trying to stay with UCSD Health although I've moved a bit further away.

Very nice caring man, good young doc
I saw Diaz when he was still a resident at UCSD in Hillcrest. Its scary how much they still dont know at that stage, and one wishes the supervision were more focused. Joe was so nice to see each time, a very human experience, only he was rather inexperinced back then, and failed to inform me about certain things i needed to know with my meds. The good news it was nothing that serious and he readily and immediately apologized. I am sure 5 years later, now, he is a fine doc.

Dr. Diaz the the best doctor I've ever had. He is not only extremely competent, but is also very compassionate and truly cares about my concerns. 10/10
