I was worried about seeing Dr A after seeing these reviews, but they couldn’t be more wrong. In true Atrius/Harvard Vanguard Dr A was very pleasant, happy, easy to talk to and informative. He spent the time to walk me through my MRI and why I felt like I did, the course of my pain over the past weeks, what I had tried, where I am now, and what I should do next. This visit couldn’t have gone any better. I would highly recommend.

wants appointment
I understand I've not seen doctor or that in a long time and right now I will never ever do this in a lifetime or even a thought to do this but I want to brought to like. It's one of my favorite doctors in the world and not just because he gave me pain medication because he was a wonderful wonderful doctor that I don't even know who he is anymore. I have my medication stopped December 17th abruptly. Since then severe pain. Constant horrific Falls. I've fallen so many times I don't even know how many. Hit my head at least three times. 66 had about Friday and it doesn't mean anything. All they're finally going to give me a appointment yeah February 18th. The pain I am in I don't know what it is. I all I know is the falling and the severe falling is not helping. I fell reaching for something in the fridge. I reached down to get it and next thing I know is I'm back so hard against my vacuum that I broke two rooms the metal pot were completely bent in half. Apparently he doesn't care

Horrible Dr
Stopped chronic low dose opioid pain med without taper or replacement med contrary to the FDA warning letter in 2019, telling me the patient “she is still alive” as evidence that he did no harm. Horrible Dr

My first appointment
After years of orthopedic care, for my severe pain, I jumped ship and went with the recommendation from my primary care doctor to see Dr. Audette. Within 5 minutes with him, he was the first doctor to recognize my pain and know exactly what it was . I started crying because for the first time I had hope that I was headed in the right direction under his care for possibly a pain free life. A life that I had not been able to live fully in a very LONG time. This was my first appointment and I’m saying now, I can’t wait to see him again to continue my treatment. I have so much faith that I am finally in the right hands and looking forward to life pain free..Thank you so much, The Future looks bright to me for the first time in Years..With much Gratitude, Sue

Shuffled me out of the office within 15 minutes. Didnt even let me finish filling out the chart. Said theres nothing they can do. Then falsified a chart saying he tested my pain response in areas he absolutely did not. This man should not be practicing medicine. I've dealth with a debilitating chronic illness for over 20 years and this might be the worst experience of the lot.

After tolerating more than 15 year of inadequate care by the Orthopedic doctors at what is now Atrius, I found out by accident that I should be treating with Pain Management doctors. I saw Dr. Audette who is the head of Pain Management just once. He administered pressure point injections and ask me to let him know if they helped. I did as he said, reached out to him many times but he didn’t respond. After my second attempt to elicit a response I called his office only to be told that he did not receive messages from me. I realized that his staff follows his example in dismissing patients. Instead of receiving care, my wellbeing was ignored. Dr. Audette showed himself as cruel, unprofessional, irresponsible and not living up to the physician oath he took. He left me in pain and hopelessness.

One of my worst experiences with a doctor in the chronic pain world or medicine in general. It takes everything a patient has to keep it together when he/she spends each day in debilitating chronic pain. The very least any doctor/np/pa/etc can do is read that patient’s file. It was my experience that when questioned Dr. Audette hadn’t even had the decency to do this. Moreover I can’t help but wonder if he became a pain specialist to ease the suffering of the afflicted or penalize those who may actually require pain medication. Judgemental and arrogant is not what we want. By the time I required an appointment I was at the end of my rapidly fraying rope. Dr. Audette could have been my hope for an answer or a possible solution to my suffering. Instead I left feeling dejected, judged, shamed, and slightly insane for my injury and physical pain. I just thank God that I found the right medical team after this did not work out.

Dr. Joseph Audette with Atrius health, has been my pain management specialist for the last five years. I've been through it all. Then I was referred to Dr. Marcello, who then sold his practice to Dr. Joseph Audette. An Expert Pain Management Specialist who graduated from Harvard Medical School. He is top in his field and has over 35 years of experience. Dr. Audette listens to patients concerns, issues and understanding. It was amazing how quickly he found a pain regiment that reduced my pain by 80%. He and his staff are all exceptional in there various duties and fields. His RN Deb is easy to talk with, recommends, over the counter medication, CBD Oil, aupuncture, meditation and other helpful things. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Audette with Atrius Health at Dedham Medical Group. In Dedham MA.

My visit with Dr. Audette was very helpful. He was empathetic, answered my questions and was honest. He also had a sense of humor which is rare these days. It was my first visit with him but I feel confident he knows his stuff and will be helpful to me in the future.

Very Bad. I am an elderly person and he prescribed me medicine that should not have been prescribed to me due to my age and condition. I am lucky to have received a second opinion and was taken off the meds he prescribed. He was rushed and dismissive and very condescending.

Terrible bedside manner, rushed and dismissive. Makes me want to leave the whole physician network just to make sure I never have to see or talk to him again. I went to Dr. Audette some time ago for a chronic pain issue that is difficult to diaganose. While he did briefly inspect me, he then recommended and performed some dry needling with anesthetic which was of limited to no use . After a return visit / consult where we discussed next steps, the consultation was rushed, he left in the middle of the visit, not planning to return until I insisted with the MA that we were not done with our conversation. He returned in a huff, suggested acupuncture and told me there was nothing else he could do, and left as quickly as he had come. Left me with no hope or serious evidence backed plan for pain resolution, and depressed for weeks. I have never been so rudely dismissed by an MD.

As an African American woman, I was looking for a doctor who would not be dismissive and listened to me after having a horrific car accident in 2010. Dr. Audette has only been a true professional and very patient with me as I tried to find pain medicine that would be effective long term. Dr. Audette also was able to diagnose pain I was having after going to another doctor several times but he could not determine why I was still having pain in my groin area after having a hip replacement. I have found him to be the true professional and would recommend him to anyone who needs to be evaluated or seeking a person who could help them control any pain they might be experiencing. Satisfied in Avon.

Dr Audette was rushed, rude, dismissive, and said things that were very inappropriate when asking me to disrobe. I am being discreet here. Please keep your distance from this man, as he is not worthy of the title of doctor.

Due to ins. I had to see an MD at HVMA & was very disappointed in Dr. Audette. On my initial exam a 1st or 2nd yr med student (I have nothing against them, I was once one myself) did an interview but no exam. Dr. Audette came in & spent most of the time showing the student how to check my reflexes. He didn't ask me questions about my chronic pain and did a very limited exam. I later had trigger point injections but he wouldn't inject where I asked him to. Also, his nurse was very rude.

I am very surprised at the other reviews. I love Dr Audette, he is one of the kindest friendliest most down to earth doctors I have ever had. No he doesnt have tons of time, but he has decency to his core and has worked v hard to keep me calm and find a good med plan which has helped him enormously.

Dr. Audette is an aggrogant ego maniac! I have only seen him a few times but this last time when I went to see him I had some questions about the procedure and he shocked me by being very agitated with my questions. He snapped on me and told me that he has been a doctor for 20 years and if I didn't let him do is job (which meant not ask him any questions) to go see someone else! I thought doctors were suppose to answer questions....guess hes to good to explain things. Never seeing him again

Dr. Audette seems to know what he is talking about, but he does not have enough time to spend with patients. It takes an extremely long time to get an appointment, and when you do he doesn't have time for you. I was rushed out the door after an extremely brief consultation. I was not given the opportunity to ask any questions and there was never any treatment plan or follow up scheduled.
