Dr. Joseph Assini, MD

After a few months of my hip replacement, intense pain set in. It was pretty hard to function. I went back to see Dr. Assini and he said ‘it was all in my head’ and suggested I see a psychiatrist. I was devastated, heartbroken and extremely scared. The deep intense pain continued as I had to hold a career and a family. I suffered for years.Finally, I found a surgeon who told me that I was compounding the injury to my spine and I must have the original hip implant out immediately. He removed a -4 ball when in fact I needed a +4 ball. I continue to heal to this day but my spine is pretty messed up. It’s a pretty sad tragedy to speak this out loud. For me, nothing is ‘psychosomatic’. I listen to myself and others I trust. For me, nothing about that experience worked for me.

Dr Assini was very professional and pleasant. He and his staf helped me bcome comfortable with the upcoming procedure. Very detailed informatrion on what to do prior to surgery, and what to expect after the surgery. Also, the Total Joint Replacement patient guidbook is an excellent resource.

Dr. Assini performed a total knee replacement on me three and half months ago. The knee is strong and stable, and I am pain free. I am able to walk several miles and work up a sweat on a stationary bike. My knee was a particular challenge as I had hardware/screws in my knee from 1989. Dr. Assini was able to effectively deal with the hardware. He is a skilled professional. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Joseph Assini and his team did a total knee replacement procedure in late July 2021. Remarkable experience! I was up and walking in the early hours after surgery and home after about seven hours. I started therapy the 2nd day. My recovery was fast and relatively painless. Seven weeks of twice-weekly PT and my knee is better than ever. My new knee is my lead up and down stairs! This remarkable recovery is a testament to the skill, precision and care of my surgical team. Yes, it was hard work, but that is what I could control. If not for Dr.Assini and his team, I would not have had such an uneventful recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Assini and the entire team at HealthONE Orthopaedics at Swedish. Dr. Assini is not only a top notch surgeon, but he is a very kind, compassionate and caring person!

Excellent Doctor and really took care of replacing both of my hips. I was in severe pain for several months and once the hip was replaced, the pain was gone. Dr. Assini and his staff are the best and really take care of you. I think that they do the best in not keeping you waiting in the waiting room.

I have never been at a doctor's office that was so well managed. From the gentleman at the door that screened us to the girls at the front desk to all the staff that assist Dr. Assini, everyone was professional and businesslike. Dr. Assisini was just like his team, organized, professional and friendly. He put you at ease about the surgical procedure right away. The Surgical Navigator Diana Mier was at the top of the list. Due to problems with our PCP's office, Diana went out of her way to make sure all the eyes were dotted on the required forms so my surgery could take place as scheduled. I am in awe of Dr. Assinini's skill and grateful for Diana's tenacity. She is a valuable asset to the office.

I would recommend Dr. Assini and his team in a heartbeat. His skill as a surgeon is impeccable and he has assembled a talented team from top to bottom. They are caring and friendly and we never experienced a bad note. In particular, Diana Mien was amazing. She went above and beyond and we are so grateful for all she did for us.

My visit with Dr Assini and his team was on time and information filled. All questions were answered with clarity and completely.

Dr. Assini and his entire staff have been great. They are all professional, courteous, and are very knowledgeable. In addition, if you have a problem, they are timely in getting back to you. I had knee revision surgery one year ago and couldn't have been better taken care of. They also have great bedside manners!

His personality and care is exceptional and his patient interaction is great. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and responds accordingly.

Dr Assini was great. He really knows his stuff. My wife had two hip replacements approx 5 yrs apart, one recently and all went well again. His staff were very helpful too.

After viewing his work on Denver’s Channel 4 News I called his office to see if he could see me and I was scheduled within the week to see him. He did the exam and answered questions and did not dump a PA on me. He gives out a 52 page brochure and there is a section with ways to get into the bed with an injured hip. I have been doing it since I saw him and for the past two nights I have slept straight through the night and haven’t had to elevate my legs to get to sleep. He said that he would use a Titanium part and I have Titanium parts in both feet and have never had a problem or a problem with the airlines or any other cat scan.

The staff at Ortho One helped me the minute I walked in, waited about for about 5 min got into the waiting took me in for X-rays right away. They explained everything thoroughly to me and what I needed to have done. Very friendly business.
