Dr. Joseph Angel Acosta, MD

My very sick brother waited four months to see Dr. Acosta. They cancelled the day before the appointment. Said they called but did not leave a message. My brother who has had several strokes and bladder cancer twice can barely walk with a walker and his wife who is recovering from cancer surgery both showed up yesterday not knowing appointment was cancelled. After checking in they were made to sit for an hour before staff informed them that the doctor wasn't even there. You seriously think they didn't know Dr. wasn't there? It only dawned on them after an hour that not only had they cancelled with less than 24 hours notice one day prior but the doctor wasn't even in the building? Instead of apologizing for cancelling and squeezing my brother in as soon as possible they put him back at the end of the line for another four month wait. What a sorry, impotent staff and what a sorry, impotent doctor for allowing his staff to treat his sick patients this way.

Initial visit, Dr. Acosta was a very kind/attentive Dr. However follow-up care is impossible. 50 unreturned phone calls (yes I logged then on a calendar) the 3 phone calls that were actually answered I was transferred and after holding for 20mins for someone to pickup to schedule another (3month wait to receive test results Dr Acosta ordered) the was disconnected. Due to (my opinion) the rude, uncaring and incompetent staff I have decided to find a Dr. Whose staff cares about the patient. Dr. Acosta you may need to take a closer look at how your entire staff is destroying your practice which I am sure has taken some time to build. As we waited in your office for my mother to be seen Dec 27th. Another patient who had just been released from the ER, for a neuro event, who needed to be seen, was told your earliest availability was 3 months away. Should have seen the "writing on the wall"

Dr. Acosta is very professional, he always greet you with a smile. He listens to your concerns. He make you feel like you matter and is a very caring doctor.

Dr. Acosta is always happy and smiling and his staff is the same way. I've been to many Neuros and none can come close to Dr. Acosta. He is NOT apathetic and works hard to find a helpful solution to some tough issues. God bless him and his staff.
