I almost had a stroke!
Saw Dr. Pagan 3 days ago for my untreated ADHD. 45F who hasn't taken ADHD meds in 18 years. He was late. Appt was rushed. Gave me a script for 60mg lisdexamfetamine and sent me on my way. Little did I know, the strength of the pills was way too high for someone starting a new med. Should have been no more than half that and monitored weekly. Took my first pill before my graveyard shift at the local trauma hospital. Thankfully I work at a hospital because I overdosed taking 1 pill! My usually low blood pressure was 168 over 107 and my heart rate was tachycardia at rest... 133 bpm! I didn't sleep for 48 hours while I detoxed. When I called his answering service, they finally got him to call back 4 hours after my initial call. He told me I needed to have my bp checked by my pcp and to stop taking the pills until my next appt... 1 month away! Not attentive and didn't really care that HIS Rx almost caused me to have a stroke!

Anne
Does not have computer generated prescription to pharmacy and have to get paper prescription at all times. Does not respond to pharmacy requests or help. Paper script takes longer time to to receive since have to mail in script to mail order pharmacy. Using a local pharmacy with a script costs more than my mail order pharmacy since meds are covered 100% with no out of pocket cost and can receive 3 months of a med rather than monthly refills.

Dr. Pagan’s RUDE office staff
The extremely rude, unprofessional office staff is the main reason for this negative review. They couldn’t bother less to care about any of their patients who desperately need help.

Respect my time!
Dr. Pagan comes in ten minutes late in the morning. Patients are scheduled at the same time and you will wait an hour even if your appointment was at 8 am. If you schedule later in the day, your wait will be longer. I realize he is only one provider trying to see a lot of patients, but the office has no respect for their patients’ time. They’ve also stopped seeing patients on Friday, which is only going to make the situation worse. Because of this, Dr. Pagan is often concerned with getting you in and out as fast as possible. His level of care leaves a lot to be desired. He writes a scrip, gives it to you, and off you go, with very little conversation other than a general checklist he goes through. His office staff is also extremely rude, but they are efficient in scheduling, billing, etc. I would see another psychiatrist if it was easy to find someone in any reasonable amount of time in this town.

A Patient – Feb 06, 2023

Dr pagan is caring and attentive to his patients, my son has seen him for many many years. The staff at his office leaves so much to be desired. Staff is rude and condescending when I call they act like they don’t know what I’m calling about. In as many years that my son has been a patient there you would surely assume they know the protocol to patients and what’s considered a delay in care but yet I always have to remind them to do their due diligence. That’s no way to run an office and looks bad on the doctor but he is the only positive fact in that office and the only reason my son is still a patient. Hope it changes soon.

How he treats disabled patients
You know, at first I left a good review but today I had and experience with Dr. Pagan and was told BY HIM that HE WAS THE DOCTOR AND HE WAS DOING WHAT WAS RIGHT. Okay, taking me off a bipolar medication that helps me and talking away my ADHD medication just because I have been having mild indigestion is ludicrous! I had heart burn prior to those medications. Were you just having a bad day and Decided you were going to mess with a mentally disable person who also has cancer? Do you feel good about yourself? By the way, your office never called me back AS PROMISED and then girl at the counter promised me a counselor would call me today as well and neither of those things happened. You just wanted me out the door and not to cause a scene. I pay you do to a job, do it. Don't act like you're all high and mighty because you have letters behind your name. I employ YOU not the other way around. SO do your job. Who even does that? I'M DISABLED!

I thought Dr. Pagan was a truly excellent Psychiatrist in everyway! I saw Dr. Pagan when my husband and I were stationed in Corpus Christi. Dr. Pagan took his time with me and listened to all my concerns. It was NEVER a quick in and out appointment like some psychiatrist I have seen. He answered every question I had about medicine and never forced a medication on me that I didn't feel comfortable taking! He is very professional and really down to earth. He provided excellent answers and feedback! He asked many questions during every visit which was extremely thorough! He monitored my medication very carefully. I truly enjoyed working with him. I highly recommend Dr. Pagan to anyone who is seeking REAL help!

Never got to actually see Dr. Pagan because after over a month of trying to get into see him (they either never answer the phone, aren't there during office hours listed, or they say they'll call you back and never do) his extremely rude and unprofessional employees, (who are clearly devoid of empathy) that answer the phone told me that he just said "no." She said "it could be his scheduling or a number of little things, but he said no" and the second rude woman I spoke to (Veronica) literally told me "all I can say is sorry, he said no, but this call is going in circles and is not important because I have ACTUAL PATIENTS to deal with."They are literally there to help people dealing with mental health issues and as someone with depression who was calling for help, I am DISGUSTED with his entire staff.
