Pre- and post op care were outstanding all around. No surprises and Dr Lopez and the entire staff were informative and attentive. Follow up was superb. Dr Lopez called the night of the procedure to check up and answer any questions. His nurse, Carla, then called the next afternoon to check as well. Hat's off to all involved. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent! Everything went well with my surgery and all exceeded my expectations. Traveling from overseas, Dr. Lopez's team gave me information about the procedure along with what to expect, pre-, during and post surgery. I had surgery with Dr Lopez last week. From the very start the office staff was amazing! His nurse Carla is the warmest, friendly and very competent. I had no issues in the center. Dr Lopez kept my husband informed and called me that same night to check on me. His office called me the next day. I spoke with Carla a couple times about questions to do with my thyroid issues and she was a wealth of knowledge and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend the para thyroid center in Tampa. I have access to many top-notch hospitals in my local community. Despite this, I traveled across the state to receive care from Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz at Tampa General Hospital. Finding two highly skilled parathyroid surgeons with extensive experience in the most complicated cases, including reoperations, was extremely reassuring. In the year leading up to the surgery, my health was declining. I had extensive bone pain, fatigue, and brain fog limiting my ability to work as a registered nurse. Right before the surgery, I was also diagnosed with osteoporosis. He suggested a surgical procedure that evaluated all four parathyroid glands to make sure no tumors remained. After the surgery, I gradually started to feel better, and the symptoms completely resolved. My recovery period was quick and relatively pain-free. I felt well enough to go out for dinner the following day. I regained my full and active life. Thank you, Dr. Lopez and Dr. Politz! I am forever grateful.

I at first did a Telehealth visit with Dr. Lopez about my hyperparathyroidism. After a discussion I settled on surgery. It was seamless after that visit. On 10-7-2024 I became sans 3 parathyroid glands. I highly recommend him and his support staff. The Nurses at TGH were top notch as were the OR staff.

Dr. Lopez had beautiful bedside mannerisms when addressing my mother on the day of her surgery, as well as when he performed her consultation! All of my life my mother has been in terrific health and her thyroid problem truly caused a change in her quality of life. Unfortunately I have had 5 abdominal surgeries in the last 5 years. Fortunately on my kidney transplant I found TGH. For my parathyroid surgery I found Dr. Lopez and team at TGH. Could not have had a better experience. The personal care throughout the process was exceptional, surgery team was world class and post-op (Vanessa) was outstanding. I am 2 days out and recovering well. Thank you Dr. Lopez for the follow-up call that night! It meant alot. If you are on the fence, trust a guy who has been through surgery many times, when I say don’t hesitate. You will not find better.

Dr. Lopez and the entire staff at TGH were absolutely wonderful. They were all caring and made me feel so comfortable that I felt 100% at ease before surgery. Dr. Lopez explained everything that was going to happen from beginning to end and why. He even called me at home after surgery to check up on me. I can’t say enough about this amazing surgeon. I flew to Tampa for a very successful parathyroidectomy by Dr. Lopez, after two failed surgeries in Utah. After my second failed surgery, I had several encouraging phone visits with Dr. Lopez, when he practiced with the Norman Parathyroid group. I was abruptly assigned to a different surgeon and later told I was being dismissed as a patient, as my calcium level was no longer testing over 10.0 and my rogue parathyroid couldn’t be located by numerous scans. I asked if Dr. Lopez was still practicing at Tampa General and was told that he was. I was so grateful to find him again!Dr. Lopez didn’t hesitate to tell me that it was time this bad parathyroid was removed, after over 6 years, whether or not it could be located with a scan. Dr Lopez is AMAZING!
