Mechanical and indifferent
I worked for the cardiology practice that Dr Chavez belongs to. He is superficial and super fast… doesn’t spend enough time with patients and his priority seems to be making more money and more procedures as fast as he can. He does have a pleasant attitude but is very superficial. Working with him (and most of those people in that group) was extremely difficult for me. They are masters at corporate bullying and lack empathy.

Patient focused
I had one appointment with Dr. Chavez and he was scheduled to do my TAVER on 2/6. He abruptly left the practice. Fortunately my Cardiac CT scan did not reveal immediate need for TAVR at this time. The next doctor did notc are and acted like I was bothering him to ask questions. I really was impressed with Dr. Chavez and his willingness to answer questions and listened to you.

Disappointing
Great doctor but unfortunately his staff is absolutely terrible. Sadly, the staff should be the backbone of the physicians practice but unfortunately, Dr. Chavez staff is rude, curt, and extremely unprofessional to say the least.I switched because of the fact that the staff - in my opinion - demonstrated a very unacceptable level of customer service - making the physician almost forget about the Hippocratic Oath.

Highly recommend. Excellent cardiologist
Dr Chavez is very knowledgeable and extremely compassionate. He spent a lot of time with me, ran the appropriate tests and explained everything to me. He knew exactly what to prescribe for me when I was experiencing extreme side effects from meds that work well for others and are a standard go to for most people. I am very grateful. The office staff is also wonderful.

In it for the money
This doctor doesn't care about patients. He doesn't even talk to them. Just reads off a chart and literally only spends 1 min with the patient. This showed he only cares about money. When you care about people and humanity it shows and instead of helping you he will tell you you're dying! Go elsewhere!!
