Not a good experience...
Had 1st appt with Dr Alicea for injured knee. Nurse told me to bring X-Rays with me on a disk. Went to imaging, had X-Rays completed, & put on disk. Upon arrival, disk could not be opened so no X-Rays viewed. Dr Alicea did quick exam and prescribed anti-inflams. Prescription sent to wrong pharmacy. Make phone calls, got prescription to correct pharmacy. A month later, knee pops loudly and I can't walk... so I go on crutches. Call back and am told first appt is 2 weeks out. Nice nurse calls back next day and gets me in 2 days later. Dr Alicea walks in and introduces himself. Does not remember me or read chart to know I was there a month ago. Does quick exam and orders MRI & more anti-inflams. Prescription sent to wrong pharmacy again. MRI sent to wrong imaging center. I make multiple phone calls to straighten this out. Insurance not preauthorized for MRI so make appt to be told they can't do MRI until Dr preauthorizes insurance. Finally just started over with new doctor & staff.

Did not resolve Issue
Prior to my visit I had and x-ray and MRI on my knee and waited more than 2 weeks to get an appointment with Dr Alicea. I was in a wheel chair not able to drive and had to take an Uber and arrived at my 12/14/2022, 11:20 AM appointment at 10:45 AM. I heard staff members stating that they overbooked and saw the doc at 12:50 PM. He appeared quite rushed and helped me remove my immobilizer while he asked me what was wrong. I told him that I had taken an MRI and had the printed results with me. However, he asked his assistant to bring it up on his computer. He hurriedly read the results that indicated among other things that I had a Baker Cyst. I asked him if he could drain it and he refused, then wrote a prescription for ointment and left the room to see another patient. My knee still gives me major pain and I think it is from the cyst that he refused to drain. He did not explain anything or give me any instruction. On a positive note I am grateful that he removed the immobilizer.

Poor bedside manner
I went to see Dr. Alicea for some issues I have been having with my knee for 7 years. He has not done any exams other than touching my knee for appx 30 seconds. He dictates to his computer as though you're not there. He does more talking to the computer than you. After he said there was nothing further he could do, I had to prompt for different options such as muscle or nerve specialists. As I explain that I am falling at least 5 times a week his response (and tone) remains the same of nothing else can be done. I will not be returning or recommending ANYONE see this doctor as he just has a horrible bedside manner.
