Best Surgeon you will find
Aside from the fact that my internist asked Dr Marcet to come see my colonoscopy WHILE, I was still under, and he came over to see the camera immediately - Dr Marcet is remarkably devoted to this science and expediting something when he sees the seriousness. I can't say enough good things about him. His bedside manner - SUPERB - his communication - SUPERB - his willingness to listen - SUPERB - and his operating skills - again, SUPERB. You are in more than good hands if you are lucky enough to have him as your surgeon.

Great Colo Rectal Surgeon
Dr. Marcet is personable, he listens and explains things, and is an excellent surgeon. Had he not diagnosed my husbands complicated diverticulitis, he surely would have died. He scheduled the surgery and removed the infected area with great skill. I would trust him to do any future surgery. Thanks to him, my husband has his life back. Note: He only works out of Tampa General and his office is there as well.

Never saw Marcet. But his administration who set up appointments are the worst I've ever seen. I had an appointment set up i had to wait a month and a half for. The friday before the appointment i call to confirm appointment is still on. They cancelled without telling me due to a "scheduling issue." And to top it off, they didn't have any appointments available for another 3 months. I guess I was supposed to be happy for that? THANKS. But No thanks. Plenty of other surgeons in the area. My only regret was reaching out to this scummy practice in the first place.

many years ago had a total colectomy. left a sponge inside of me and i didnt find out until recently due to getting my medical files. i ended up with severe pneumononia after surgery and was in tremendous pain but no one told me what had happened. i was in the hospital about a month because i was so sick after this major surgery. this doctor was barely in the room as it is like a bait and switch because the student doctors are mainly doing the surgery while he oversees it while doing other surgeries at the same time. i am friends with someone who used to work with him and told me he doesnt listen when reps are trying to explain new techniques and many butt heads with him because of this. and he is rude when you ask questions that he perceives as undermining him.

Horrible. As a young adult, Dr. Marcet operated on me for Crohn’s several times and I wish now I hadn’t let him. I suffered for months because of his ineptitude. I’m a physician now and would never treat a patient as horribly as he treated me. I regret ever meeting him.

Dr. Marcet was part of a surgical team that did a long and very complicated surgery that enabled me to swallow and eat. Without Dr. Marcet, Dr. Sommers and Dr Vinson, i would have been confined to a life tethered to a feeding tube. He explained to me the risks and possible consequences very clearly. His bedside manner was impeccable. In short, a remarkable doctor and a great guy.

There is no other colorectal surgeon in the Tampa Bay area with Dr Marcet's reputation. Wished I had Tampa General and Dr Marcet in my insurance plan before I had horrible results with another surgeon. Do not ever think of having this type of surgery without having a second opinion with him.
