Re: Cervical spine MRI done for neck pain just below the skull subsequently diagnosed as occipital neuralgia. Does he realize that neurologists aren't trained to read the MRI image and depend on the radiology report. The emphasis of the report by Dr. Weiner was C3 through C6. C3-C6 which is not involved in occipital neuralgia and those issues he documented were long standing asymptomatic abnormalities. He essentially documented normal with mild arthritis above C3. Fortunately I repeated the MRI in NYC and it was also reviewed by several neurosurgeons with the diagnosis of severe arthritis c1-c2 with (? thickening) & instability believed to be contributing to compression on the occipital nerves. The significance is that I was recommended for surgery based on Dr. Weiner's report that there were no problems at C1-2. Unfortunately neurologists and plastic surgeons are not trained to read an MRI image and depend only on the radiology report

Dr Weiner is the worst radiologist that read my MRI results for my brain and back. The so called report that he prepared was without a doubt is the most incompetent I have ever seen. His report said nothing about anything that remotely resembled my back..incompetent and dangerous. I have had 5 MRI's in the past 6 years that described in detail serious things that were usually around 4 pages. His report was one paragraph. Scoliosis and 30 degree spine curve not even mentioned to start. Shameful!
