Right to the points the patient needs the most
What am I suffering? Is the disease operable? What could happen after the surgery? Those are the common issues a patient wanted to be addressed by his/her surgeon. In early 2021, my wife was found to have multiple liver lesions and liver biopsy indicated adenocarcinoma. The oncologist, as well as gastroenterologist and radiologists, initially considered metastasis liver cancer and referred to Dr. Shame. His diagnosis was intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma, which was later proved correctly by surgery. He discussed this case with his multidisciplinary team and told us before surgery that I am confident that I could remove the existing liver tumors but there was 90% of chance the disease might reoccur. He was proved correctly again and her cancer did reoccur. Thanks to Dr. Shame for the very successful surgery and the oncologist to provide anticancer therapies, my wife is now still fighting for this very aggressive cancer. Dr Shame is always right to the points the patient needs the most!

I came to him, after being told by another Doctor that there were no more test to be done for me , and for me to just try treatment only , because he didn’t want to go in blind!. My son - law told me to try SCCA, at this time it was my third time dealing with neuroendocrine tumors, so I and my primary physician gave me referral to UW medicine and Doctor Sham. I and my daughter went for my first visit to see him, my first impression was a young doctor with a very positive and upbeat attitude, plus he actually cared about the person in front of him, he told my story by my daughter due to I was still shaken by the last diagnosis . He said” well, we’re it going to talk about what we can’t do but there are more test we can do , to determine what may be going on. I left feeling upbeat and thankful for doctors such as him! If you are in need of a great neuroendocrine surgeon Dr. Jonathan Sham is a awesome choice. G.Alexander
