Saved me from surgery
Another physiatrist that gave me 2 epidurals told me that surgery was my only option. I was referred to Dr Kirschner and, like me, he sees surgery as a last option and felt that there was a chance that a more conservative approach would be helpful. He prescribed some meds and PT, and did another epidural. 2 days before my scheduled surgery I cancelled the procedure and have been fully active ever since (running, biking, golfing, etc.). Before seeing him, I was walking with a cane for 3 months and for no more than 200-300 yds. Great doc, and I was very surprised that some have had a negative experience with him.

nice doctor, was completely wrong about condition
dr. Kirschner was nice and pleasant. however, he was 100% incorrect about my condition. I met with him in Jan 2023 in New York. he seemingly brightly quoted studies and their authors. I typed the study name into my phone and was upset to later read that the study was about a different issue (same body part: shoulder) than we were discussing that day. I was there for a different reason, perhaps he couldn't understand that.

Great doctor. Excellent diagnostician.
My husband and I have seen Dr Kirschner a number of times over the past 8 years. He is our go to person for most sports injuries. He is always thoughtful, always listens, has state of the art equipment available to assist with diagnosis , if needed. His assessment of the nature of the physical issues and recommendations for treatment have always been excellent . Because he is so good at what he does he is in high demand and an appointment is usually only available several weeks in future.

Would not recommend this doctor
It was bad enough that he kept me waiting for an hour and a half without an apology, but he never addressed my issue.

Dr. Kirschner is a great doctor and has a fantastic supporting staff- Sheila & Sadasia. He's incredibly knowledgeable, conservative re: treatments, listens and if there's an emergency will go over and above board to get you in. Wait time is minimal compared to other doctors. I can't recommend Dr. Kirschner more.

Awful staff! Waited 3 weeks for appointment which is normal. Day before they ask if I can come in a half hour earlier. I said I would try but was driving and couldn’t check trains(it’s a 2 hour commute to office.) Well they moved my appointment up 30 minutes, then when I got there 10-15 min before my actual appointment time they said I was late and wouldn’t see me when actually I was early as a courtesy. With such rude service there’s no way I would reschedule and risk similar treatmeant!

My husband has played sports his whole life, and with that comes a lot of injuries. Dr Kirschner has been a Godsend for our family. My husband was told he needed back surgery and was able to avoid it thanks to this incredible physician. Any time he has an injury, he goes to see Dr K and is able to get the care needed to resolve his issues without invasive interventions. If you are facing an injury or chronic pain, I highly recommend going to see Dr K to understand your options.

Dr. Kirschner has improved my quality of life immeasurably - specifically by helping me rejuvenate my body and avoid unnecessary surgery. After years of chronic lower back pain, I was resigned to having a complex yet completely unpredictable disc surgery. Dr. Kirschner, however, methodically examined me and pinpointed my lack of flexibility/core strength as key problem areas - and I haven't had a lapse in two years! He's engaging, thorough and knows his field cold - I highly recommend him!

Have seen Dr. Kirschner several times. The first time, he seemed disinterested and bored with my case, as other reviewers have complained. Just when I was ready to give up, I had an excellent appointment, confirming the positive reviews others have given. He finally seemed engaged in my case and interested in helping me. The office staff has been consistently rude, however. I'm hanging in there, because I think the treatment is finally working, but it has been a bumpy road.

Horrible experience. The Dr. seemed bored, didn't listen and had minus zero bedside manner. He treated me like a car that was broken, not a person. Wow. HSS ???

This was one of the WORST dr. experiences I've ever had. He actually said, "well I order some tests if you them but I don't think you need them." Limping in pain, I found a great Dr. - she ordered a test and it turns out I have a huge spur at the insertion point of my hamstring that's causing enormous problems. He paid NO attention to the pain and only said I needed to exercise. C'mon, HSS, get some decent dr.'s. He also made me wait in a gown for over an hour.

Very bad experience with Dr. Kirschner. During my visit he did not appear to be listening as he uttered "ahmm" every 2 seconds as if to be dismissing/rushing me through my explanation of symptoms. Once finished he asked if I had seen a therapist, suggesting my pain was in my head and to just continue along as I had been. When I told him this was not possible because I was in constant pain he suggested that maybe what I was feeling wasn't actual pain. This was the most insulting Dr appt ever.
