I can not even begin to tell you what a great surgeon and all around human being Dr. Hott is!!! I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone including my own family and friends!!! He not only takes the time to explain everything in depth to his patients but also takes the time to follow up in the hospital if not only once then several times. He also ALWAYS ensures that he's available to his patients should they have ANY questions regardless of time of day or if they are a current or past patient of his. I say I would recommend him to my own family not only bc he's a great surgeon but bc he treats each and every patient as if THEY are family!!! He truly is a top notch and extremely respected surgeon but not only that he's also just an all around great human being all together!!!! I HIGHLY recommend him!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Hott from a family friend and I have to say that I am so grateful to have met such an extraordinary doctor. He had done my mom's back surgery and it was a success!! Then he saw me about 10 years ago when I was 20 years old, telling me if I can try so many other things before having a surgery since I was really young. He never pressured and always was transparent on everything that I had concerns of. Finally 10 years later, in March 2021, he did my L5-S1 fusion. I would have had it no other way with certainly no other surgeon touching my back! Before my surgery, I had seen a different doctor highly recommended at Barrows with the whole covid-19 since it was complicated to do elective surgeries so that did a consult, and you know what, I stuck to Dr. Hott because he knew exactly what I have been needing the whole time and never tried to talk me into getting stuff that is not needed to avoid surgery at this time in my life. Dr. Hott made me feel so confident in my ch

I was referred to the neurosurgeon – Dr. Hott. Dr. Hott spent the time with me going over in great details the MRI indicating to me the reason(s) why I was in so much pain. I was so afraid that I would not wake up from the surgery. I was so afraid to go under. But – With the comforting and the great detail that Dr. Hott had given me – I was more comfortable at the date of the surgery. After the surgery – It was a miracle. When I first seen Dr. Hott at the hospital I had to give him a great big hug. I could not explain in words alone how I had been given my life back again, the life that I once knew. I had been in such agony, pain, and discomfort – That I never even wanted to attend functions for I just was not myself and I was irritable and not good company. Now I can live again. My sister said to me – “Welcome back Wendy.” Dr. Hott is my GOD. What he has done for me – I will never be able to thank him enough.

I visited Dr. Hott due to a cervical spinal issue that radiated pain and numbness down my right arm into my hand. Dr. Hott was quickly able to identify the issue and set a surgery date. The surgery went better than I expected or hoped! By the time I woke up, the pain was gone. It has been 3 months and I have healed almost 100%. Thank you, Dr. Hott!

Jonathan S. Dr Hott Neurological Surgeon. I rank him the best in his field. I'm glad I did my research to find the best. He goes above and beyond to care for your needs and informing you of the procedure. His staff is fantastic . Dr Hott did a Microdiscectomy and Laminectomy of my L3/L4. I was up and walking the same day. Also, able to go home the next day. After 2 week all nerve pain was gone. It's now been three months and I feel fantastic. I'm working again. Walking, bending, lifting and twisting.

My gosh, Dr. Hott is the very best experience anyone can have or anticipate having with a medical professional. I couldn't have been more blessed to have been referred to this gentleman. His approach is welcoming, very informative, and compassionate. His skill is above and beyond reproach. He works in concert with the patient, explains all facets of any proposed procedure in a way that makes it clear and less fearful for you. Highly, highly recommend Dr. Hott for a true care giving experience. He is a genius!

So....I had an interesting experience with Dr Hott and his assistant Cathy. I reached out to the office about two weeks ago, with nerve issues with the left side of my body. I had recent film on both my cervical and lumbar spine which would assist in the diagnosis. Upon following up with the Dr Hott, Cathy informed me that Dr Hott would not see me due to the fact that I had previous surgeries. A couple of observations. Though it is his prerogative not to see me, didn't he take a Hippocratic Oath whereby he "will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures that are required". I also understand he may not want to take my case due to the history, complexity or worst yet, the prognosis, but couldn't he provide his opinion or suggest another qualified neurosurgeon that would take my case? I wasn't looking for a feebie since I have adequate insurance. In the end, Cathy was a bit rude after I had called back to see if he would at least provide his opinion, but kept on saying it's Dr Hott

An MRI confirmed C4-7 severe stenosis/spinal compression. My spine doctor said to immediately see a neurosurgeon. Without hesitation, they recommended Dr. Jonathan Hott. On the first visit, I knew I had made the right decision. His office consists of a wonderful receptionist Coral, and a very knowledgeable assistant of 15 years Cathy. Dr. Hott spent as much time as necessary explaining exactly what I had and what was needed to fix it. He’s extremely kind, professional, no arrogance or pretense, and genuinely cared about ME. On July 15, I had cervical fusion surgery. He only uses a hand-picked team of doctors/ nurses in the OR. All of his patients stay on the 3rd floor where the nurses/doctors/staff know and respect him. I was impressed with how kind/courteous he was with each of them. The surgery was a total success. I’m pain free and looking forward to returning to the things I used to enjoy. What do you say to someone that saved your spine/life? Thank you does not seem enough.

I just wanted to let everyone know how amazing Dr. Hott is. I was having back issues and went to him for an appointment, he had me try different options as he is not one to just operate on people. Well needless to say one year ago today I ended up having back surgery. I ended up having complications from my surgery that were no fault of Dr. Hott, but I would like to say that Dr. Hott did everything to find out about my complications and was by my side everyday checking on me. I just want to let everyone know that even on the day I was released from the hospital he noticed me leaving and pulled us over in the parking lot and did one last exam on me before heading home. Dr. Hott and his staff have always made my wife and I feel very comfortable and welcomed. I would also like to mention that Cathy in his office is amazing and always helpful. So if you need an amazing doctor, Dr. Hott is the one for you. Thank you so much for everything, my back feels great and doing things I use to.

Congratulations on receiving Phoenix Magazine's Top Doc Award again in 2018! We think it is well deserved! My husband was dealing with nerve pain and numbness in his leg for years. He tried everything non-surgical, but it helped only temporarily. Dr. Hott recommended a laminectomy and fusion. Dr. Hott explained everything more than once, to make sure we understood what he wanted to do. The surgery went well and my husband is now pain free and the numbness is gone! Thank you!

Dr Hott is simply amazing. It’s not just Dr Hott that is running the show. His staff is wonderful as well. There are no surprises with Dr Hott. He does what he says and with a humorous flair. He is text book with bedside manner. A gem in the rough. He has gotten so many patient awards I doubt there is room on one large wall. I will forever be in this man’s debt for his expertise, his ability to connect with patients, and the extra care you will receive while in his care. Thank you Dr Hott!
