He Listened to me, and he had studied my case before I had my first appointment. I have had serious issues with my health, he addressed them and gave me a treatment plan. I was very impressed. I did have to wait to see him, but there are only 2 rheumatologist in Florence right now. Well worth the wait.

Exceptional experience
I had my first RA appointment. Dr Docherty was exceptionally nice, knowledgeable and attentive. He listened and received the information that I gave him. He wasn’t hurried and didn’t rush me. He examined every joint and discussed findings at that time. Overall it still seems like a waiting game . I am happy that at least I got a chance to tell about the nightmare of a life that I have been living without being judged and dehumanized. I will recommend over and over again. I’ll update review as treatment continues..

Dr. Docherty is a Godsend! I become sick in 2015 and was sick for months. No one could figure out what was wrong with me. After one visit with Dr Docherty he knew exactly what was wrong with me and what test to run. I was diagnosed with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I see him every 3mons and have since 2016. He takes his time with my appt and answers all questions I have. Never met a doctor so caring to their patients!

Dr. Docherty has been with me in this journey. I was diagnosed with SLE in 2015 and I have had good and bad days. But he always reassured me, " We'll get you to feeling better". He 's a doctor that listens to his patients and actually checks you without a lap top . Thank you for your encouragement Dr. D, you're simply the best!!! Yeah I would recommend him over and over again to others.

My Dad was a patient of Dr Docherty. He had Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was a patient of Duke Hospital. Daddy was always in pain, depressed, and he turned to alcohol to when he was overwhelmed. Dr Docherty admitted into the hospital took him off all his meds and basically did a restart. I was with him everyday but I went home at night. The day we knew Daddy was to be discharged I hurried to get my children to school and I was running late to get Daddy. My Dad has little patience for tardiness. I called his hospital room and was floored to hear my daddy say “George’s Pool room 8 ball speaking”! His whole attitude towards life was restored! Dr Docherty put him on a different regimen of meds and it changed his quality of life! I will forever be grateful! Now I am a patient of Dr Docherty. I always look forward to my visit with him. He has taught me many exercises to help with strengthening muscle tone and balance. I highly recommend him. I’m excited that he is back in Florence.

Dr. Docherty cares! He has great listening skills and if you do as he asks and take the meds he prescribes, I PROMISE he’ll help you as much as he has helped me! He’s very good with complicated cases and is a Godsend!! The only thing I wish is that he still had an office in Florence.

Best Rheumatologist iceberg ever seen. I don’t mind waiting to see Dr Docherty, because my one on one appointment time is not rushed. He Truly cares about each patient. Something that NEEDS to be applauded in today’s day and age. I was wheelchair bound when I saw Dr. DOCHERTY, and he has me now able to walk with the assistance of a cane! It’s Truly Miraculous.

Wish i could leave a review of the good doctor, but I've never met him. My referral has been sent twice, since Aug 31. I've called numerous times. Everything is automation and voice mail. None of my calls/messages are yet to be returned. A call back to, at the least, acknowledge my existence would have gone a long way here. I'm newly diagnosed with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid disease...hurting...and done! I will be calling my doctor tomorrow and request referral to another rheumatologist.
