Dr. Delashaw performed several surgeries on me in 2006. Two transsphenoidal surgeries and several surgeries to stop CSF leaks. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is kind and compassionate. After having my adrenal glands removed by the general surgeon I developed MRSA and that surgeon did not want me on his ward. Dr. Delashaw said I'll take her, put her on my ward! He is a wonderful caring man and great surgeon. My husband and I went to that facility from all the way across the country. He not only treated me with kindness but my husband as well.

I was referred to Dr. Delashaw at OHSU in August 2010 after an MRI found me to have a Menengioma the size of a coffee cup in my left side attached to my occipital area. After a 6 hour surgery...i am very happy to say that 11 years to the day i have had a great life since the surgery. Now writing a book for all of my grandchildren and this event is detailed in a chapter. Dr. Delashaw did a great job of explaining all of the possibilities of the surgery, and at the same time relaxed me to feel ok about this massive event. I have not had any noticeable side effects since that massive surgery. If i needed any other brain surgery, i would fly to wherever Dr. Delashaw was located and have him do my work. Thanks Doc!!!

Saw Dr. Delashaw for the first time in April of 1996. I had a serious condition that the staff at OHSU was having difficulty finding, had it not been for Dr Delashaw I might be blind, but he overheard other Drs talking & suggested another treatment. He did my surgery at that time & when the condition returned in August of 2016 he was my doc & did another surgery , this time at Swedish. I consider him a friend & one of the best drs I know. Would trust him with my care anytime.

As far as I'm concerned, Dr.DeLashaw Jr. gave my son 5 yrs of a great life with his family performing an extremely difficult surgery when he was at Swedish. Unfortunately, my son has another tumor in his brain that isn't operable . I'm on this site and others to try and find out where Dr. Delashaw Jr. is. We would like a second opinion from him that the new tumor really is inoperable. I don't know how he was outside of the OR bur he is outstanding in the OR.

I cannot say enough as to what a terrible man he is. He might be a good surgeon, but if something goes wrong during surgery, don’t expect him to be honest about it.

Dr Deleshaw saved my mothers life. She was plagued with an 8 lb brain tumor. After MRIs and many many dr appointments she was referred to Dr Deleshaw. She had a chordoma. He met with her, scheduled surgery and went from there. She only had a 0.01 chance of survival. He removed the entire tumor, and sent her for stereotactic radio surgery. She lived another 20 years, far surpassing what was expected. Sadly she passed in 2017, but he was able to far succeed her quality of life expectations.

I barely walked into Swedish at the time I met Dr. Delashaw. I was repeatedly falling as my legs would give out due to pinching of my spine and the nerves. Dr. Delashaw provided me options versus surgery. My quality of life was very poor at the time but has made remarkable strides for the better having the L4 and L5 and S1 surgically repaired. This also opened the door for me to lose 150 lbs which was the major cause to my back problems. Delashaw and his team treated me with great care.

In 2006 Dr. Delashaw performed the second surgery on my husband's spinal cord. It was to be exploratory. It revealed a recurrence of a cavernoma. I don't know why he continued the surgery knowing the full damage to be expected instead of closing my husband up and allowing us a few years of happiness prior to death from the cavernoma instead of all these years of suffering, pain, loss of companionship and financial ruin. I would be happy to discuss my review with the Dr at any time.

As a patient 2010-2015, I received compassionate, wise counseling during the most scary time of my life when a benign brain tumor was discovered. Dr. Delashaw explained my options thoroughly and allowed me to decide next steps. I pray the current media-driven flap will soon be resolved, his good name restored. Should I ever need surgery, I want God to place the scalpel in his hands.

Dr. Delashaw did my back surgery (fused L1-L3) after I was in a skiing accident. I have had the most amazing recovery and have never had any pain since. I am so grateful that he was my doctor. Not only do I think he has incredible surgical skills but he was also super informative and attentive and helped me and my family feel at ease prior to the surgery and afterwords with recovery. I highly recommend him!

This person whom represents himself as a world renown neurosurgeon is so disturbing. I was a victim of his incompetence and suffered greatly because of it. He punctured a hole in my dura sack and lied about it. He missed my spine by two inches. Incredible. How can a so called neurosurgeon not realize where your spine is???? I had to have another surgery to correct his mistake and suffered like no human should ever have to suffer. It is unforgivable. Please be aware he is NOT qualified!!

I could not have been more pleased with Dr. Delashaw and his staff. From my initial exam subsequent surgery and aftercare I was treated with consummate professionalism, empathy and kindness. I had developed a vestibular schwanoma which Dr. Delashaw removed. I recommend him to anyone facing the frightening prospect of neurosurgery.

Dr. Delashaw has performed brain surgery on both of my parents, both for very serious brain tumors. My father was diagnosed with a GBM in the late 90's when Delashaw was still with OHSU in Portland. He performed two surgery's on my father helping him live approximately 3 years longer than anticipated (great for a GBM). 15 years later my mother was diagnosed with a frontal lobe tumor and I took her to Delashaw because of our great experience with him. He saved her life and I forever thank him.

Dr. Delashaw chose not to do a physical exam on me. We looked at scans and made his determination from that. He literally spent five minutes with me. It would have been great if he would have refused my case and not wasted my time. Thankful to have a NS that treats me like a person and understands my symptoms.
