Dr. John Yurkanin, MD

Lacking in competence and admits it.Might be OK in cancer cases (doubtful) but for BPH, he is simply not skilled enough.HE tole be there are FAR more skilled surgeons here in Tucson.

I tried to schedule an appt with Dr... but the front office gal was so unpleasant there was no way I would be ab,e to... I'm not sure Doctor Yurkanin is aware of how rude and unpleasant this person is... but he should be...Might be best to avoid this doctor.

In 2000, I entered TMC hospital as a patient with kidney stones. My experience was pleasant and issues were treated, pain was addressed, and resolved. At that time, Dr. Yurkanin release me and told me to call him if I needed further treatment or consultation.In July 2023 my body tried to expel a 8mm stone with great discomfort. I instructed the hospital to contact my urologist Dr. Yurkanin. Subsequently, I was released from the ER after speaking with a different urologist. I tried to contact Yurkanan to set up a lithotripsy session and was told that I was no longer his patient and that the next available consultation appointment was in September. Kidney damage would have been inevitable by that time. A week later I ended up in the ER and was finally treated by a different urologist providing great relief. If you want a Dr. with some compassion for pain, good patient skills, and surgical experiences, I would not recommend anyone see Dr. John Yurkanin, Tucson.

I have had a few surgeries by Dr Yurkanin. He has done an excellent job on all. He’s very busy but I have never felt rushed. He knows what he’s doing and I wouldn’t want anyone but him as my urologist. Highly respected by hospital personnel.

Dr. Yurkanin has taken excellent care of our elderly father. His office staff is courteous and always keeps the family in the loop about our father's care. All of his procedures have been performed to a high standard. We couldn't ask for a better doctor.

Very poor experience with getting results to me. He left for vacation without passing on results even after calling I called multiple times throughout the week when he was in office. Very unprofessional.
