Thank you, Dr. Wei.
I had severe gallbladder attacks and knew I needed to find the best Surgeon. I did a lot of research online and was hoping to find somebody at Lahey hospital. Dr. Wei has 44 years experience. There is no learning curve here. Dr. Wei has been there done that in regards to surgeries. He is a serious & excellent surgeon. I told him I went to get a second opinion The second surgeon concurred that Dr. Wei was correct in me needing to immediately remove my gallbladder. I put the surgery off for a number of months and went back to talk to Wei and he didn’t waste any time scheduling me for surgery even though it was around the holidays because my attacks have been becoming more frequent and he knew I needed to get it out quick. He did An excellent job and I could not believe the incisions were so small and clean. I had no redness or any complications. It’s been about six weeks And I’ve never felt better. No more pain and I can eat Whatever I want.I will be forever grateful . Scot K..

Pleasant Experience - Open Hernia Surgery
I read reviews for Dr. Wei and got nervous but still trusted him to do my open Hernia Surgery, and im glad i did. He explained that he does the open method compared to laparoscopic as a preferred method due to it not connecting to organs underneath where as open it above and does not have that issue. Open does require a longer recovery time, but i had absolutely zero issues with Dr. Wei. He is straight to the point and knows his stuff... I am a 27 year old male and had a hernia for about 2 years, i am now 6 weeks post op and don't feel a thing. Don't let these negative reviews deter you from a Dr. who has been doing this for 20 plus years. I hope this helped anyone considering Dr. Wei for Hernia Surgery.

Did not explain hernia surgery well. Thought I was get laparoscopic and wake up with a 4 or 5 inch cut. Sent home very fast and told to just take acetaminophen and ibuprofen pain. Had very bad pain for atleast 3 days. Very painful to sit, lay down and walk. Slowly felt better, but had a set back after slowly walking for a few hours shopping 4 weeks after surgery. So much pain I was thinking of going to the hospital, took ibuprofen went to bed. After my surgery my wife tried to ask questions and he kept saying it went well. She thought he could not speak English. I am type 1 diabetic and said I need to be first thing in the morning I was assured this would happen. When talked to the scheduler day before surgery told it was in the afternoon and I had to call Dr office which i did and no return call. Later that day my wife spoke with another scheduler and said the 1st schedule could have made the change, but to late. Day of surgery i had many low sugars. No one really cared.

This guy is angry and mean. Berated me for looking at another hospital, then left the room and loudly complained to the other staff about how I considered a doctor outside Lahey. He berated me for a couple of other things too, including my weight. He did not give me the feeling that he values my life or well-being. He did not leave me with confidence that he could do the surgery required without killing me in the process. I then sought outside opinions, and it turned out he wanted to do the wrong surgery anyway. I do not trust this doctor, and will never be back.

I was just thinking of Dr Wei today & how his surgery saved my life 13 years ago. He's an excellent surgeon. He performed two surgeries on me back in 2003. I was hoping he was still a surgeon at Lahey. The clinic is fortunate to have him on their staff. Once again, I thank him, for without his expertise, & caring attitude I wouldn't be here writing this review today. If I ever needed a surgeon again, he'd be my first choice. ??
