Above and beyond care!
Telehealth
My wife had fractured her hand two weeks prior and, after urgent care, was seen by a local orthopedic specialist 4 days later who noted that surgery wasn't needed. The prosthetist that was fitting my wife's custom splint the following week said that the x-ray looked like the worst metacarpal fracture she had ever seen. That really made us worry that her hand may have needed surgery and was now already weeks post injury. We scrambled locally but could not get a timely appointment. In an age where access to care has become challenging to many patients, Dr. Rayhack went above and beyond to provide my wife with a timely second opinion that gave her the peace of mind she was looking for to address the question of surgery needed or not with a hand fracture. We called his office at the Wrist and Hand Center and were able to, on the same day, speak directly to him and get an opinion from him (confirming that she won't need surgery. We highly recommend Dr. Rayhack!

Wonderful experience with Dr. Rayhack & his staff
I was referred to Dr. Rayhack from my primary care doctor for a problem with my hand. Dr. Rayhack assessed the issue quickly and clearly described the options. He even drew me a picture which I found helpful to refer too. He clearly explained the situation and when I chose to do the surgery, his preplanning instructions and post op instructions again paved the way for a very successful outcome. He is a very talented, kind and amazing physician. His office clearly is devoted to him and a pleasure to interact with. His technician made me a hand-crafted split which was amazing as well. If you have a hand issue, I highly recommend his services.

Wonderful experience from a great team!
I was amazed by Dr. John Rayhack and his team and their quality of service and great organization. My primary care physician referred be to this office. I was able to quickly get an appointment. Dr. Rayhack was quickly able to diagnose my problem and scheduled surgery within a week at St. Joseph's. Both Dr. Rayhack and his team as well as the St. Joseph staff made the procedure amazingly easy, pleasant and painless. The follow up appointments went extremely well and assured a full recovery. The office staff were professional, caring and very helpful in the process. I am more than pleased with the process and experience.

Exceptional Surgical Experience
As a retired registered nurse with a PhD in nursing, I am confident in my assessment of care quality. From the time of my initial office visit with Dr. John Rayhack through my post-operative visit, I was extremely satisfied with his thorough assessment, knowledge of my problem (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), and approach to surgical care. Additionally, he involved me in decision making about my treatment by explaining my options. Dr. Rayhack excels at verbal and written communication/instructions. I knew exactly what to expect! At a time when I am often critical of the health care system, my experiences before, during, and after this surgery exceeded my expectations. I rate Dr. Rayhack as highly as possible!

Excellent Doctor and amazing staff!
Needed hand surgery due to a fall while playing sports. Dr Rayhack and his staff were amazing. It was during the holidays and they managed to fit me in. Dr. Rayhack makes you feel like you’re his only patient. Extremely thorough and answers all your questions. Extremely easy to contact the office staff with questions as well. Everyone is very nice. Surgery and recovery was great.

Excellent Doctor and Successful Surgery
I broke my wrist from playing sports and Dr. Rayhack was able to fix it. He put a plate, 10 screws, a bone graft and 3 temporary pins in as well as re-routered one of my thumb tendons. This allowed for a great recovery and I my wrist is back to being functional again.

Awesome Doctor
Seen Dr Rayhack for a injured joint in a finger that was constantly painful. He recommended surgery and the outcome has been better than I expected. Pain is totally gone, I can use the finger now and it looks better too. He is very meticulous and his staff are great too and scheduling was a breeze.

Dr. Rayhack is the best hand doctor! I broke my right (dominant) wrist & the first doctor I saw recommended bone grafts, plates & screws! Scary! Dr. Rayhack was recommended to me & he determined my wrist might heal without surgery if I was willing to wear a cast for 3 months. And it worked! My wrist is good as new! No adverse effects! He also fashioned an access point in the cast where I used an ultrasound wand to stimulate bone growth. I did this daily for 20 minutes. Each month, I returned to his office for an X-ray & a new cast. Each month, we saw bone growth. I highly recommend Dr. Rayhack for his creativity, expertise, skill and professionalism. He is a sole practitioner - very unusual in this day & age.

I had surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture in Chicago five years ago. I have it pretty severely in both hands. The surgery was done a totally different way than Dr. Rayhack does it and the result was not good. The hand still looked crumbled and and couldn't really function fully. I moved to Florida a few years ago and knew I wanted to get my hands fixed. Luckily someone I know gave me Dr. Rayhack's name. I was doubtful that the way he approached it was so different than what had been done in Chicago. I went ahead and did the surgery and could not be more grateful that it turned out exactly as he said it would. I have a hand again! A deformed and crumpled hand it now FLAT! People who know me and have seen the photos and seen my hand in person are astounded. I am having him redo the first hand that was done in Chicago in the Fall of 2022.

I injured my wrist and had it x-rayed and was told it was a sprain. It did not get better and my Dr. sent me for a scan and found out I had fractured it and it was growing back wrong. Dr Rayhack was highly recommended and I am very pleased with the outcome. Every one in the office is great and never a long wait. I would definitely recommend him!

my visit was okay but my surgery left my hand almost not usable and the doctors comment was "that's unusual" and he can't fix it. It is 10 times worst now than before the surgery.. think twice before you let him operate. I'm the one who suffers 24/7 but he just continues on like nothing happened.

Fantastic doctor, amazing staff! The wait time in the office for me was always under 5 minutes. I was having problems with my ulnar nerve and ended up having to get a surgery done with him at St. Josephs same day surgery center. Not only did he and the St. Joe's staff do an amazing job, but also every step of the process from scheduling to billing was clearly communicated and executed. Dr. Rayhack did a great job explaining what was going on with my elbow to me and made sure to explain the multiple options available to treat it. After having the surgery with him, I have made a full recovery and have had no problems with my nerve or arm since.

Last summer I broke my pinky finger. I first went to my primary doctor for the pain, but was told I only had arthritis and there was nothing they could do for it. After two months of dealing with the pain, a nurse friend highly recommended Dr. John Rayhack. He said he was one of the best in the Tampa Bay area. I would certainly agree with his recommendation. Dr. Rayhack took his own set of xrays and sent me for a CT scan to confirm his findings. Turns out I did break the bone as suspected, plus had lost cartilage as a result between the joints. Arthritis had begun to form around the joints as well. He attempted to splint my pinky for 8 weeks to avoid surgery, but after no improvement, we opted for a finger fusion on the joint. The surgery was exactly as he explained. I used prescription pain pills for about a day and a half, then went to Advil for a couple of days. 6 weeks post surgery I have excellent range of motion with no swelling or pain. Loved Dr. Rayhack and his staff!!

Dr. Rayhack performed surgery on my thumb in July 2019. I love his quiet nature and attention to detail. He thoroughly explained how the surgery would take place and how long it would be before I had full use of my thumb again. He is friendly and gentle and his staff were very polite and helpful. I highly recommend him to anyone who requires hand surgery. It was a successful and meaningful event for me.

I'd had pain, numbness, and weakness in both hands for quite some time. Upon the advice of a friend, I contacted Dr. John Rayhack's office. His staff got me in to see him the next day. Within two weeks, I'd had my double hand surgery and I was on the road to recovery. I appreciated Dr. Rayhack's kind and straightforward approach and I felt very comfortable in his competent hands. Many other nurses and doctors told me I had THE BEST hand surgeon and they said that he is THE surgeon that other surgeons go to when they need hand surgery. They even commented "We don't know what we will do if he ever decides to retire!" Needless to say, the accolades from his colleagues further assured me that I'd made the right choice in Dr. Rayhack. I am now pain-free and so very grateful to Dr. Rayhack! His office staff is also both competent and friendly and they made the entire process very easy. I would not hesitate to strongly recommend Dr. Rayhack to anyone needing relief from hand/wrist pain!
