My family doctor sent me to the ER where I was admitted and told I needed surgery. I was unsure what was going to happen but then I met my surgeon, Dr Phu. He was kind and calm, explaining what needed to be done. I felt reassured. After surgery which was more involved than he thought, he described what he did( with illustrations). I am very grateful for his expertise.My 2 visits to his office were met with the same professional kindness he has.

Dr. Phu has repaired 2 hernias for me and I would not hesitate to use him again. The hospital staff was great as well.

Needed a hernia repair. Searched around. Kept coming back to Dr. Phu. Met with him. Intelligent, articulate, personable, and takes all the time you need to understand the process. Surgery was a breeze. In and home in 4 hours. Mild pain. Very manageable. almost gone in a week. If I had to have another, this is the Doctor to see.

Very friendly staff and Dr. Phu was so kind, courteous and professional. He listened to my concerns and helped put me to ease and helped to lower my anxiety. I would recommend him to anyone!

Hernia

I received a robotic assisted inguinal hernia repair from Dr. Phu. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Phu and his staff. He was excellent at explaining the procedure and addressed any questions that came about. Everything went great with the surgery itself. I would certainly recommend Dr. Phu and his staff.

Very quick during visits, didn’t feel like my total needs were being met.

Doctor Phu was excellent at explaining the surgery, preparation for surgery, and asked me if I had any questions or concerns. The surgery I had was successful and had no complications. I am thankful for him and the staff supporting him as well.

I had Dr. Phu operate on me for Inguinal Hernia repair. Dr. Phu explained the options and procedure and in speaking with him asked several times if I had any questions. The surgery and recovery went very smoothly. I was released a few hours after surgery. Dr. Phu phoned me the next day to check in with me and again asked if I had any questions. At the 2 week recheck he removed my bandages and patiently discussed the results and said if I have any questions or concerns to give him a call. I would highly recommend Dr. Phu.

So welcoming and so willing to share information and to answer any and all questions. Dr. Pfu was very professional in his approach to my ventral hernia surgery. At no time was I concerned with any aspect of my procedure. I would recommend Dr. John Pfu to all as a very conscientious practitioner.

Dr. Phu was excellent. I had an open and successful hernia repair. Dr. Phu listened, thoroughly explained the medical issue, what would occur during surgery, and shared expectations post-surgery. Twice he called me personally to check on my progress post the surgery. Tina, Dr. Phu’s nurse was also excellent, she was very helpful in answering questions (before the surgery) that I had regarding post-surgery. The practice provided a very helpful document on what to expect post-surgery and what best to do for a quick and successful recovery. I had performed considerable research on surgeons in Philadelphia and surrounding counties to try to determine the best doctors from the patient and other doctors’ views. Dr. Phu was the best choice and I now have experienced myself and agree. The staff and prep/recovery and OR nurses at Jefferson Lansdale were all very compassionate and through and provided much comfort. Highly recommend Dr. Phu and Jefferson Lansdale!

I had a laparoscopic hernia repaired by Dr. Phu in November. I can't recommend Dr. Phu and the entire practice enough. From the first visit, to any questions I had, someone was there to help. The staff are kind and helpful. They actually return your calls and make you feel like you matter, which is rare to find these days. It's really good to know going into a surgical situation that you can count on post-op support should you need it. I recovered quickly with minimal discomfort. This is the best practice for hernia repair, and they have that reputation for a good reason. Highly recommended!

I'm 74 and went to the Emergency Room at 6pm with excruciating abdominal pain. Two hours later, after a CAT Scan, I met Dr. Phu and he somehow managed to clearly explain to me through my pain, the surgery he was proposing, and the potential scenarios. He had assembled a surgical team and sometime before midnight (I think) he performed emergency surgery that quite simply saved my life. The post surgery consultations were uneventful as thankfully was my entire recovery. Five weeks on and I feel good as new.

I have used Dr. Phu for two surgeries, one last year and another earlier this month. He explained everything in advance and everything went well At the post op visit he said everything looked good. He was happy with the results and so was I.

Dr. Phu was knowledgeable and thorough both before and after my procedures. I highly recommend him!
