He cares
It’s not every day you find a doctor who really cares. I appreciate a doctor who’s compassionate and direct, treated me like a person and not a number. A breath of fresh air. Thank you Dr. Bellistri

Former patient
Dr. Bellistri has a horrible attitude, he comes across as arrogant and rude. There’s no real compassion or care. Two other ppl I know have went to him for a consultation and they both left and decided to go elsewhere. Proving I was correct about his attitude. He’s very nonchalant and his demeanor comes across as if he doesn’t care

“Error in judgement”
Dr Bellistri was called into my cancer operation due to an injury that occurred to my colon when removing the malignant tumor. Dr Bellistri decided to repair my colon instead of resecting the damaged intestines. When the “repair broke down” I became septic. A simple partial robotic nephrectomy ended up with me needing an emergency surgery to resect the damaged colon. Weeks of heavy duty antibiotics some of which could be harmful to my kidneys. One of the top doctors at Lawrence actually used the word mistake when describing Dr Bellistri’s decision to repair and not resect in the first place. I understand that “errors in judgement” can happen in medicine but I don’t understand the arrogant attitude this doctor had when he knew that I knew what had happened. Word to the doctor humility goes a long way. No one is perfect not even you. Don’t act like you are.

He is a good surgeon, but his office is a nightmare. The waits are endless and there is a real lack of organization. And after you wait forever, he spends 2 minutes with you.

Was scheduled for a hernia procedure at Lawrence Hospital. Procedure was initially scheduled for 11:30a, then pushed back to 4:30p. Arrived at the hospital and placed on the 4th floor at 1:30p. It wasn't until 3 inquiries to the forth floor staff and 6 hrs later, that Dr. Bellistri visited me in the room to tell me he had to postpone the procedure, admitting that it was his fault. Poor service from the 4th floor hospital staff and unfortunately, Dr. Bellistri. Still waiting, 4 days later, to hear from his office staff, who I spoke with to reschedule.
