This doctor was suggested to me by a friend who works at the hospital in Monroe. The visit was helpful....but I could have done without the patronizing demeanor. The office staff was exceptional, friendly, and helpful. But I doubt I will follow up with him. The visit as a whole left me feeling quite unsettled when I later reflected on his inability to deliver a message to me without using such an arrogant tone. I felt a total lack of respect when it came to my knowledge about my own body.

My appointment was a few weeks ago, I am still trying to process the whole thing. I think maybe he was just too "retro" for me! He actually pulled the "the doctor is always right" attitude with me. The whole experience was so awkward and uncomfortable I am still trying to make sense of it. He actually seemed offended that I might have an opinion of my own!

I accompanied my sister as her advocate when she had an appointment with this doctor. He entered the room and made a very strange comment about her body. Then when she tried to answer his questions, he interrupted her like what she had to say was not important. It made me very upset to witness such unprofessional behavior. It seemed like his opinion was the only one that mattered. Then when he apparently finally figured out his lack of manners hurt her feelings, he suddenly adopted a very fake caring tone but it was obvious he lacked sincerity. Then the treatments he recommended were all experimental and/or not covered by insurance! Waste of time!!

Chastised me for getting a second opinion. I wanted to see another doctor just to reaffirm the diagnosis from dr. Patz. He seemed very offended and then belittled me. I am still shaken up it was just very unprofessional.

Dr Patz takes his time with his patients. I've seen more doctors than I'd ever be able to keep track of, and he is by far the most compassionate, kind hearted, knowledgeable and intelligent physicians in his field. He understands addiction medicine and wants to be sure his patients are clear on what is happening in their body and brain. I'm so grateful I am under his care.
