Very Happy We Chose Him
Dr. Pattaras took his time to review notes from my urologist, MRI and biopsy as well as discuss his process as it related to nerve sparing (my tumor was close to a nerve bundle). It was quickly clear that his experience and attention to detail was extensive. I felt comfortable that he was highly skilled and would spare as many of my nerves as possible – while prioritizing the complete removal of my tumor. His (and his staff’s) support after my surgery was just as good. He met with my wife after the surgery and both of us the next morning. When at his office, if he was there, he'd check in on us. His staff was very helpful over the phone and in person. I recently passed the three month mark, and I’m very pleased with where I’m at. I believe that his skill and attention to detail likely spared more of my nerves and has been a key factor in my progress.I would 100% recommend Dr. Pattaras and his team without giving it a second thought.

Awful service
Dr. Pattaras was very rude and abrasive this morning. My mother came in with concerns about a mass on her kidneys. When questioned about the mass, his answers were "I don't know" and "You keep asking me and I said I don't know." He said this with a very abrasive tone which I received as being rude. I informed him that I was asking because he is the doctor. He seemed too busy to address my Mom's concerns and was rushing her. He kept asking for notes from the radiologist when he should have been capable of giving a medical opinion based on his knowledge or experience. He came to the appointment late and prior to making it to her appointment he entered my mom's assigned room with another patient's chart, thinking he was in another room. I do not appreciate how my mother was treated this morning. She already was already worried. This behavior from a doctor was unnecessary and unacceptable.

Yeah just save yourself the time. This place is awful. He is rude and arrogant and his staff is incompetent at best. His nurse is rude as well. We waited over 2 hours past our appt time to be told LITERALLY “I don’t know what to tell you “ I’m not sure who he’s a professor over but they need to be retaught.

I met Dr. Pattaras through a telehealth visit. During the visit he was very knowledgeable and very helpful with my case. He answered all my questions about my stint and made sure I knew what was going on during my surgery. I can’t thank him enough for helping me.

From outset Dr. Pattaras presented as a confident and knowledgeable surgeon and therapist. His approach was straightforward and he was concise and clear in his recommendations. I had consulted an experienced urologist before him for my prostate cancer, but wanted a second evaluation to be on the safe side. After meeting with him I was very confident in Dr. Pattaras and chose him. If you want a best friend go to someone else, but I wanted a top practitioner and surgeon, not a pal. His manner gave me the confidence I needed that my cancer would be treated in the best, up to date manner. I had no front office or scheduling problems. The surgery went as well as could be expected, and Dr. Pattaras attended to the requirements of my chronic kidney disease and other health problems. He checked me post operation, the nurse assigned to me got me up and moving, and his resident followed up, all smoothly and as expected. My follow up office visit was great. Summary: 100% satisfied.

This office is really unprofessional. Dr.Pattaras does not get to know his patients or care to treat them. He prefers to have his P.A’s treat them. Lakeisha was a scheduler and she was awful as well. He doesn’t take the time to make his office better! Run!!

We went for an appt with my dad for prostrate cancer. We had never been here before and were very nervous considering the diagnosis. He came into the room and from the moment he opened his mouth was rude. All he wanted to talk about was my dads weight and how he couldnt do the surgery for 30 mins. He showed no compassion at all. He called my dad to heavy over 30 times. He knows that. His time with my dad could have been a few minutes and said "hey i cant do this unless you can drop some weight" not constantly beat him up over and over again. I would have never let my dad go under surgery with him even if it had been possible. I dont care how great he is. If you cant show compassion from someone whos scared from cancer then get out of this type of work.

Dr. Pattaras will not look at your medical history or lab reports before your appointment time. He will however answer his cell phone call from his car dealership during your appointment. His nurse is extremely rude. I will NEVER visit Emory again.

Dr. Pattaras was good during my initial work up and surgery. Now, it is a nightmare trying to get assistance or appointments scheduled. His main scheduler lacks empathy or compassion. Only offers “first available” appointments regardless of the situation or need. I’m extremely disappointed that now I am forced to seek out another provider that may be able to work with me.

My Mom passed away in September 2015 due to upper urothelial tract cancer that had spread all over her body. We had a terrible experience with the physician and I have waited until now to leave a review. My Mom was originally scheduled for surgery in February 2015 in Athens. She did not undergo surgery until June. I expressed concern over chemo, he proceeded anyway. She could not take it. I shared she may have a PTEN mutation. He ignored me, and she had the same mutation I have. -NO GOOD!!

Dr. Pattaras saved my life. He is exceptionally thorough and informative and always takes all the time I need to answer every question I have. He is as caring as he is skilled as a surgeon. I wish I could give him 100 stars. I could never thank him enough for all that he has done. I don't know of any other doctor who combines so many great qualities. I can't say enough great things about him.
