Dr. John Oldham, MD

Dr. John Oldham is a word...'Awesome!' This surgery (gastric-sleeve) and this surgeon changed my life. I honestly don't know why I didn't do this sooner. My surgery was on July 13th, 2022 and little did I know that day was the beginning of a life that I had forgotten. I was my heaviest @ 385 prior to seeing Dr. Oldham. I had to lose a few pounds for insurance qualifications and then Dr. Oldham had me lose some more. So at the time of my surgery I was 370. I am now @ 250 almost 2 years later. What a difference a total loss of 135lbs. makes. I have so much more energy, sleep apnea is gone, and my heart failure has gone from a stage C to a stage A. Which means instead of a heart function of 25-30%. It is now 40-45% which is a lot closer to normal than not. I am so grateful for him and his team for giving me a new lease on life. They are truly the best. So in conclusion; if you're on the fence about having weight loss surgery. Don't give it a second thought; just do it.

Dr. Oldham and his staff are amazing. They all took the time to talk to me, including Dr. Oldham himself. I didn't feel like I was rushed through the process, I was able to speak to him multiple times before the surgery as well as the morning after surgery for any questions I had. I feel like his staff if very educated and willing to listen and help you with any of the concerns you have with this surgery. Dr. Oldham even goes above and beyond when you have a hiatal hernia and will fix it even though he's not able to bill for it. He wants to make sure his patients have the most success possible!

I am very pleased with Dr. Oldham and his practice. It is a busy office but the team takes the time to make sure your questions are answered. Dr. Oldham is very personable. He called me to answer the questions, met with me in the office, met with me in the waiting area day of surgery and met with me at bedside AFTER surgery during my recovery. They give you a binder and review very specific instructions to set you up for success BUT the patient has to be ready to do 90% of the work. The team holds the patient accountable to follow the treatment plan. Use the MH, nutrition and nurse resources if you need that. You must be ready to make lifestyle changes. Best!

He is one of the few that continues to give excellent patient care. He takes his time to explain everything to you and makes sure that you understand. He is very good to call you personally to answer your questions with him being the one to answer them, not second hand through one of his staff. I would recommend Dr Oldham to anyone seeking bariatric surgery or not sure if it's the right choice for you. His staff is just as wonderful.

Uncaring, cold, arrogant.

Had Bariatric surgery. Most weight was lost before surgery, & right after because of the stomach recovery. Limited, forced dieting. Lost 80 pounds. Have gained over 40 back. They say you won’t gain the weight back. I think they choose selective success stories from random people. These attend support & encourage you that this surgery is your best option. Do it again? No, I would not. They follow you for approx a year & then I assume do not wish to hear about your weight gain. Very disappointing.

Very smooth process , he's a gastric sleeve assassin!!!! Highly recommended, just listen to him, and watch the weight fall off!!

Dr. Oldham did a fantastic job from start to finish. He explained all the options in terms you can understand. His staff is excellent. The vertical sleeve he performed on me was perfect. I would highly recommend Dr Oldham if you are looking into weight loss surgery.

He and his staff made sure that I was educated very well before he did my surgery. I feel like I was able to understand what was going to happen, before, during, and after. The whole team is very supportive.

Doesn't have sufficient knowledge to care for patients when complications occur. Dr. Oldham is only able to do cookie cutter bariatric surgery, he has NO ability to manage your health if complications occur. He also has no plan to manage any complications. I had to seek out another bariatric surgeon to take care of my leak and the abdominal abscess that resulted from Dr. Oldham not placing a drain when the leak was discovered. Dr. Oldham should not be trusted!!!
