Dr. John Neilson and Sean Veenendaal, PA-C work great as a team. They took the time to fully evaluate my health and readiness as well as explain the robotic total knee replacement surgery and pre- and post-op expectations. I felt very reassured and confident in their skills. Received a nice binder of information at the pre-op exam which helped confirm at-home medical equipment, surgery process and exercises to start and continue after the procedure. Surgery, care, touch bases are going exceptionally well. Pain was minimal (with the help of meds, taken as recommended) and mobility progress has been on track. I an a 61 year old female, motivated to follow the medical plan provided for my best quality of life, overweight but in good health with reduced physical activity for sometime due to the osteoarthritis. Two weeks post -op, I’m already looking forward to getting the second knee replaced with the same team.

Dr Neilson is straight forward. He tells you what you need to do before the procedure to make the healing process go better. He sincerely cares about you to get better. He's not one of those doctors who just stops by and gives you a look and says a few things and leaves. He wants to know how you are doing and what his team can do to make you better.

Dr Neilson listens attentively, explains thoroughly, and is uptempo with a light sense of humor.

Brilliant surgeon who gets the right people involved to create a multi-disciplinary team to treat the not so common ailments in orthopedics. The very best bedside manner too. His PA is great.

He was on call and came in to do my surgery. I very much appreciated that. He was confident and that put me at ease. And I love this website that they check in with me every day with helpful hints and answer any questions I may have.

Although my medical conditions were numerous, he operated with great care and precision over many hours.
