He was excellent in diagnosis treatment for my elbows and hip, spoke to me with great respect and regard for the severe pain I experienced.

Diagnosed with severe arthritis in my kneecap. He gave me no help or no ideas to relieve pain except for knee replacement which I cannot have right now. Said he knew with my X-ray that I would be in pain, but offered no solutions. No empathy at all. I honestly left in tears.

Dr. McCarthy did a very poor job of diagnosing my knee pain. He quickly diagnosed Runner's Knee after minimal evaluation and prescribed exercises that made it worse. He seemed to base his diagnosis on assumptions and delayed ordering imaging tests that would have correctly identified the problem much sooner. Although he did not prescribe physical therapy, I went on my own and the physical therapist did a thorough evaluation that correctly determined that I had a torn meniscus. This delay in diagnosis has caused a delay in treatment could have been easily avoided.

This doctor doesn't listen to you, and doesn't seem very concerned about you. His office management skills also are lacking. His staff failed to schedule my MRI (when I realized the error, I did it myself), and wrote the wrong order to the physical therapy team. I have been to this practice before, and I have been highly satisfied. I am not satisfied with this doctor, and I would not recommend him.
