Highly Recommend Dr. Mathewson!
Dr. Mathewson did my carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and it was a good experience considering. I highly recommend Dr. Mathewson for your carpal tunnel release. I am three months post surgery and am doing incredibly well! Thank you Dr. Mathewson and staff for such great care every time I was in for a visit or follow up.

When I met Dr Mathewson, it was an urgent emergency. He was so kind and immediately called my primary doctor and two others about my situation to coordinate my care and get me admitted into the hospital ASAP. He called me during my hospital stay and was truly concerned. He has always been so kind and caring and the best doctor ever. He is a brilliant doctor and so honored to have had him to help me as much as he could. I was upset when I found out he left San Antonio for Midland, TX. The office NEVER called me or never sent me a notice. I was so upset and just recently found out last couple of weeks. He is the best surgeon ever. He would spend as much time as needed with his patients!

His treatment is exceptional. His staff is great. I can't sing his praises enough. 15 years of hand/arm/shoulder pain, and this was my last ditch attempt to feel better. He diagnosed me on my first visit, explained everything clearly, and had a treatment plan set up immediately. This is after 15 years of doctors saying they couldn't figure out what was wrong, and trying to say it was all in my head. Dr. Mathewson knows what he's doing. If you're looking for an expert, this is it. Not only did my surgery (De Quervain's tenosynovitis release) go perfectly (my fingers aren't cold or tingly anymore), but he went to bat for me with my physical therapist when she decided that she didn't think I have basal joint arthritis and refused to give me hand splints. He set her straight, and a week later, splints on hand, I no longer needed physical therapy (imagine that). He doesn't shame you, talk down to you, or treat you less than an equal. 1000 characters isn't enough to show my gratitude.

Dr. Matthewson is a PHENOMENAL doctor. Everything about him is amazing. I am so Thankful I found Dr. Matthewson. I went to him to get a second opinion. He took the time and care I needed even knowing I was there for a second opinion. He answered all my questions and explained everything so detailed. We were so impressed with Dr. Matthewson that I scheduled my surgery with him. Being under his care and his Medical Assistant is truly a Blessing.

I was referred to Dr. Matthewson by my dermatologist for a ganglion cyst on my wrist. On my first visit he did a extensive exam and told me I had 2 issues one the cyst and a fistula on the top of my wrist that needed surgery. The surgery sent extremely well just 2 small incisions , which he apologized for told me they’re usually smaller. I was very impressed by Dr. Matthewson and would highly recommend him I think you’ll be very pleased with him.

Dr. Mathewson and his staff were all extremely friendly and professional. He spent a great amount of time with my wife and I and answered all my questions in terms I was able to understand. I was able to schedule a surgery in only 2 days due to my unavailability. I would definitely recommend this doctor and staff to anyone!

Great initial visit. Was able to schedule same day appointment. Receptionist greeting me when I arrived, and showed me the forms I needed to fill out. Was then met by Heather the technician, who took my health information, and took the necessary x-rays. Dr. Mathewson has an excellent manor, explaining exactly what part was broken, and outlined my options. Heather then applied my cast, and Dr. Mathewson checked my cast and told me when to come back to check on healing progress. Excellent!!!

This is the most awesome Dr. I have ever worked with. I went to Dr Mathewson for a 2nd opinion on an injury I sustained to my predominate hand. Wow, is all I could say. He took the time to explain the MRI results in English, showed me an x-ray of my good hand and the injured one so I could see the extent of the damage and made sure I was comfortable with the surigical approach we chose. I flew from TX to GA for post op check up because because i didn't want anyone else touching my hand.
