Professional and Confident with his Skills!
I have been to Dr Lombardi many times over the years. When he walks in the room, you know the Dr is there! He is welcoming, warm smile, and yet, he has a professionalism aura that surrounds him. After the “hello’s”, we talk about why I am there. Sometimes I need X-rays. Maybe I need to get checked for physical therapy authorization or options of surgery, if needed. He has never disappointed, never rude. He is a great listener for my needs or my daughter’s. He is very much a professional man, he has earned that. However, he is warm and welcoming. He is not soft spoken and yet he is soft spoken. He is a professional! Proud to call him one of my Doctors. And, a plus to all of that, plus being a great doctor, “he’s a cutie”!

Doesn't Listen
I went to Dr. Lombardi in 2017 requesting an anterior hip replacement. I specified anterior, and he agreed. Instead, POSTERIOR surgery was performed without my knowledge, I spent 2 nights in hospital, was overprescribed Norco, and spent WEEKS recovering. I never saw Dr. Lombardi in the hospital, and during a follow up visit I was told it was necessary to change the procedure. I have since learned that the suite is set up differently for these two procedures, so he must have known going in that he wasn't going to honor my request. I have since steered several prospective patients away from Lombardi. In 2022 I had the other hip PROPERLY replaced. It was OUTPATIENT, anterior procedure, and I was golfing 3 weeks later - thank you Dr. Shawn Palmer!!!

Sad excuse for a doctor
I've never had a worse experience in my life. This was the rudest and most incompetent provider I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. He explained absolutely nothing, he couldn't even tell me if I had a broken bone or what to do while in the hospital. My whole visit I felt like he would rather be elsewhere. The best thing I ever did was finding a new doctor for my surgery.

I looked at several reviews for hip surgeons, Dr Lombardi had amazing reviews so I booked my appt. I had severe pain for over two years and didn’t want to have a major surgery, he reassured me this would be the best and only option to get rid of the pain. I booked the surgery. Before surgery I had a trip to the ER, the people working there know him and could not say enough good things about him, I also talked with a few other people that know of him and also had amazing things to say about him, how kind, friendly, and knowledgeable he is, which made me feel confident I made the right choice and would be well taken care of. His explanations of surgery and the recovery were outstanding. He has amazing bed side manor. I’m 6 weeks after surgery and I’m doing awesome, Dr Lombardi has given me my life back and I am so grateful to him. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Lombardi, amazing surgeon, wonderful person!!

Thought I needed a TKR but Dr.L advised my hip was in bad shape and might not allow me to rehab the knee. I had the hip done with minimal pain and was amazed at pain reduction in knee. Have since had TKR and his advice on rehab was spot on.

Dr. Lombardi is a wonderful surgeon. He will take the time to explain things to you in a language that you can understand as a layman! His office staff are personable as is his P.A. Dan. I have recommended Dr. Lombardi to several people in need of orthopedic assistance.

He did m hip replacement May 14, 2015. He didn't answer questions or explain things. He also did not see me for my 6 week check up I stopped going and never got any instructions for after surgery. My physical therapist told me when I could drive again, not Lombardi. I have not seen any medical person except for dentist and eye doctor and vocal chord Dr in the last 2 years. The person who tube down my throat damaged my left vocal chord. He ruined my life.

I would not use Du Page Orthopedics ever again! My husband was scheduled for Hip Replacement surgery and they cancelled His surgery because Dr was going to be on spring break that week with his family. Ironically my husband asked before scheduling if this would be the case, Because he is a teacher himself. He was told No, Dr doesn't live in the area. School holiday schedules are out a Year in advance. This unprofessionalism, is untolerable. I'm an ER RN, I will never refer this group again!!!!!

His staff is horrible, he keeps patinets waiting way to long--unless it is Friday and he wants to leave the office early--he pawns patients off on his PA who doesn't know as much as he does; his practice in general is not equipped for the volume of people who are in it and his staff is rude and uncaring.

Surgery didn't go well and he didn't know how to fix it. Never took responsibility for his actions and ruined patients life. Too busy to follow up and not knowledgeable enough to take care of aftermath. You have other choices. Do not take a chance.

Dr. Lombardi did not provide timely and adequate responses to my emails sent through My Chart. He told me on several occasions that I needed to lose as much weight as possible but refused to give me a timeline or an acceptable weight even after I told him that I had no quality of life and could barely walk or function on a daily basis. I felt that he dictated a care plan instead of working with me to customer develop one for me and to resolve my pain.
