Could be better
While Dr Knight is probably a competent surgeon he wasn't very response during my visit and left the room before I could tell him about my other hand issue. Staff was not very friendly and have a lot of rules while not seeming to care about patients' rights or needs.

Permanently scarred
Had the audacity to send me and still expects me to pay a $200 bill when all that he did is delay my healing and cut me, leading to a permanent scar ( keloid). Told me i needed surgery asap even though I saw 2 other drs ( back home) who disagreed. My PT, whom I probably would’ve been able to get into sooner had I not had to make a visit to Stl to find out the TRUTH, told me Dr. knight was a joke. Thank God, I didn’t let him do surgery on me for multitude of reason. But I will forever have a nice scar on my hand to remind me of the horrible visit and how he was sawing through my skin as I was begging him to let me do it since I was an orthopedic nurse for 5 years. He couldn’t do the job of a MA. He tried it to blame it on my cast being waterproof and “too thin.” I honestly found them easier to take off but he won’t even put them on…. I don’t know anyone who would prefer a heavy non waterproof cast opposed to a lighter waterproof one. Even it that’s what u want, see someone else!!

Went Once - Didn't Return
Dr. Knight was curt and very condescending with me. He wanted to schedule surgery but so many, many things made me feel uneasy about allowing him to operate on me. I followed my gut and found an amazing doctor who listened, studied my case and recommended an entirely different type of surgery. Always trust your gut ... it serves you well!

Bad Job
In my case Dr. Knight did a very bad job in my opinion on my left hand, I had knuckle replacement about 3yrs ago, he tried to put a size 4 stem in a size 3 hole in my finger. He tried so hard an so long I think he damaged the bone because to this day I have a lot of pain in my index finger left hand, it is my opinion you better think twice before going to see him.

Beware old reviews
I’m sure Dr. Knight is a skilled surgeon. But his management of his office is regrettable at least. I fell and severely injured my thumb and it was easy to get seen. But upon my 2 minute exam I was ushered to the front desk to be told 50/50 on my MRI being scheduled. I asked the front office clerk what that meant and she rudely responded ‘50/50’. It took me meeting her tone and level to get the correct information out. I should’ve known then that this office staff is not up to the task of caring for patients in acute injury. I then had my MRI done and was called by a representative of his team, to tell me that I “had a significant tear, and the recommendation was surgery’. I asked when would that surgery be they said in a couple of days you’ll receive a call to schedule. After three calls to ask reasonable questions - someone finally called me back but I still don’t have surgery scheduled. I feel like a chore to this office . Good Reviews are old -Go somewhere else.

Rushed and Inflexible Doctor
My experiences were not satisfactory. Rushed in and out 2 visits of less than 5 minutes. initial steroid procedure did not resolve any of my problems. Will not do carpal tunnel release on my wrists with newer technique of nerve blocks on forearms for surgery. Went with a hand surgeon that does that type procedure.

I had surgery and he left my finger more broken and painful than before. Blamed it on swelling and said it would go away and now I’m 6 years later in the most pain daily hurting and my finger has looked sideways from the moment he took it out of the cast and again he made it seem like that would go away over time HA!

Dr. John T Knight of the hand and wrist institute now located in TX is RIDICULOUS!! 1. His office billed me for x-rays that I provided to them. They were detailed x-rays completed at another doctors office which I provided to Dr. Kinght's staff 2. Dr. knight examined my injuries for less than 1 minute. Yes you read that correctly, ONE MINUTE. He was in my room for less than 5 minutes total. 3. He was all too willing to operate despite his record breaking exam 4. The bill for his 5 minute office visit was exorbitant 5. Despite my showing up early for the appointment, I had to wait almost one hour. What I can tell you is that Dr. John T Knight is a thief, immoral, and a snake.

BEWARE! While completing the paperwork prior to my appointment, Dr. Knight makes each patient sign an agreement promising not to bring frivolous litigation against him, and only retain a board certified hand surgeon as an expert witness if a lawsuit is filed. Essentially, Dr. Knight makes the patient agree to never sue him regardless of the outcome, as it is extremely rare and improbable that a board certified hand surgeon will testify against another doctor of the same standard. Who in their right mind starts a professional relationship out this way? Dr. Knight claims that a doctor may suffer "irreparable harm" from litigation. WHAT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE PATIENT? After cancelling my appointment, I received a call from one of Dr. Knight's staff members demanding a reason for the cancellation. He sounds like such a great person!

Dr. Knight's skilled surgical team were absolutely fantastic! At 68, my carpel-tunnel issues had left me in constant crippling pain. The problem had escalated to the point of disrupting my sleep 6 out of 7 nights with shooting, throbbing pains in both lower arms!! BUT, immediately after Dr. Knight operated on each wrist, (right in March 2012, left in May) the pain was gone and has not returned! Additionally, I was able to use each hand within a week after each surgery! Dr. KNIGHT is #1 !!!
