Dr. John Kirkwood, DO

Prescribed me medication, set my next visit, medication refills ran out prior to my next visit, called to get refill, was denied and told I would have to come in before getting a refill. 3 weeks until my appointment. I guess if he is fine with me going 3 weeks without being on the medication, I don't really need it. Really disappointed because up until now I like him.

My father came in to be "evaluated" for his arm and instead of Dr. Kirkwood doing his job and examining his arm while my dad proceeded to show him his swollen arm the Dr. tells him "I'm not here to get you more money". My dad didn't say anything about money and MONEY wasn't the issue! His arm is still hurting! Can you tell me why the Dr. even mentioned MONEY? This was a state review so how do you do a review by saying this? My dad worked for over 40 years and still would be if not for his fall!! HOW DARE YOU TREAT HIM LIKE THAT?!! Very poor service and we do not recommend anyone see this Dr. next time my dad goes anywhere I will be with him.

The Kirkwood family of doctors has been taking care of me since I was an adolescent. I'm so glad my insurance covers their services.

This visit was a 3 month follow-up visit for me. I was greeted kindly by the front office staff (like always), brought back timely, and seen by a medical student first then by Dr. John. Like always my visit was thorough and all my questions were answered. I have to add that when we moved to Pasadena 22 years ago we were looking for a good doctor and were happy when we finally found Dr. John after trying other doctors. We since moved to Pearland but continue to drive to Pasadena to see Dr. John as we do not want to lose such a good doctor.

Finding a new Family Doctor was necessary because my previous doctor retired. I am one who resists change when possible. I could not have made a better choice, Dr. John Kirkwood, for my Family Doctor. My appointments are always honored on time.

Dr. John Kirkwood is the type of doctor who will listen and treat you with respect and kindness. He knows how to keep your information confidential and has respect for your medical needs. ( Before I met Dr. Kirkwood, my last doctor would talk very loudly about my concerns outside of my room to other nurses) Dr. Kirkwood sincerely cares about his patients personalizing which ease the nerves of going to go see him for medical needs. Definitely recommend this doctor!

It was just a review of my test results. Dr. Kirkwood was very thorough and answered all my questions.

I needed to be seen as a follow up to tests taken at MD Anderson. I received an appointment for the very next day and was seen by Dr John. The test was done in his office and results were received in a few days. I give this group high marks for quick and efficient care.

Visit was on time and prompt. He was caring as usual and had great bedside manners.

My older brother Jim and I took our mom to see Dr John. Mom was a former patient of Dr Bo Kirkwood has retired and since she has outlived her former PCP. We suspected mom had a UTI and Dr John's staff performed a UA and the UTI was confirmed. While waiting on the test results. Dr John took the time to educate us on the do's and don'ts of feminine hygiene. Dr. John also supplied samples for the incontinence condition to check out it this particular drug was effective before going the prescription route. These samples were a big help with costs. Looking forward the the follow up visit in May.

First time visit with Dr. Kirkwood. He and his staff were very efficient.

I come from a generation where we had a Family Doctor, but with the HMO system, service and referrals, everything changed. Really no kidding, a 2 hour wait period, 30 minutes in a waiting room, and doctors whose names I could not say! Then as I was looking for another doctor because mine quit, I found Medical Service like I grew up with. Dr. John is kind, and is able to pin point your problem and he will make you feel better. Wait times are short with someone following you the whole way letting know what is going on. I feel like I have found a young Doctor trained in the old school ways. Doctor John Kirkwood is a caring and truly a nice person! Dr. John has also cured my stress and my bad past experiences, going to The Doctor. I have known all of the Kirkwood's for many years. Bo was my doctor for almost 30 years before he retired last year. John was able to see me on very short notice when I came home from traveling almost without any notice. You can't beat these Doctors
