Not happy with staff and procedures
Arrived at 2:43pm for a 3:00pm appointment. Sat in the waiting room 30 minutes before I was finally taken back to the exam room. I'm waiting in the exam room for quite some time, about 20 minutes by now, and I go out to ask how much longer. The nurse was a bit rude; asked if I was a new patient. Yes, so what? That shouldn't affect my level of care or wait times. Then said he was with the patient before me and it shouldn't be much longer. I sat in the exam room over 30 minutes when the doctor finally came in at 3:55pm. This is ridiculous. My time is just as valuable as theirs, and to sit there for an hour after my appointment time to be seen is unacceptable. I was there almost an hour and a half! If I had a choice, I would find another hematologist, but with my insurance, I'm stuck.

Dr. Kailath was wonderful with my mother, who was his patient. He was the only doctor who diagnosed her correctly with Multiple Myeloma. He was in front with her and gave a treatment plan available. Asking her the whole time what path she wanted to take. He was very respectful.

I have the highest regard for Dr. Kailath. He's knowledgeable, professional, caring and he has the most wonderful sense of humor. I first met him when I was in the ICU at Mercy San Juan hospital and within 10 minutes, he won me over. My two sons were there and they put the poor man through the wringer, asking question after question. Dr. Kailath patiently answered all their questions and even my two over-protective sons were impressed with his knowledge and patience..

I would recommend Dr. Kailath to everyone who wants someone who cares and treats his patients like human beings and explains everything so you have a better understanding of your treatment. After the first diagnosis I felt depressed but he made me feel confident that I will beat this disease. Dr. Kailath You're the Best!!!

Dr. Kailath is sensitive, kind, and hopeful. He is honest. He tells the truth compassionately. I chose him because I was a patient at San Juan Mercy hospital after Stage IV ovarian cancer surgery. He saw me every day, often more than once, and treated me like a person rather than a number on a case list. Dr. Kailath is innovative and aware of new treatment options. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and his care is encompassing of who I am and what my life is about.
