While visiting family in the area, my husband was assigned to Dr. Issa after being admitted to LAMC through the ER and diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer shortly thereafter. Dr. Issa semed scattered, disorganized, and disinterested. Very dismissive of our concerns, "Ho-hum" responses. Contradicted himself from sentence to sentence, leaving us confused. Difficult for the nurses to reach him. If it weren't for the wonderful nursing staff and specialists, we would have felt totally unsupported, though we didn't expect Dr. Issa to be an expert in any area covered by the specialists. He seemed always in a hurry to be done with us, and some of the things he said just didn't track. The prescriptions he left for us on discharge were incomplete and hand-written, so they could not be deciphered by the pharmacist, who was unable to contact Dr. Issa for clarification. This resulted in stress for our family and delay in my husband's receiving relief from some symptoms. I do NOT recommend Dr. Issa.

If I could give minus stars for this pretend Dr. I would. My wife admitted herself to the ER at Los Alamitos Hospital for difficulty breathing. She was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. While she was there she contracted COVID19 and the hospital did everything they could to get her to leave. After two days she was transferred from ER to the regular floor and Issa was in charge of her case however she cannot remember ever seeing him in person. All of her meds and treatments were done by nurses who were for the most part very good. They transferred her out of their hospital to a COVID shelter for homeless people at 4:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon to fulfill the rest of her quarantine period. I don't know how this man is allowed to practice medicine or how this hospital is allowed to treat patients this way without severe actions being taken. I was told by the hospital administration that they just didn't have the room to keep her. What a terrible, dangerous joke this place is.

Dr Issa does not return phone calls. After being paged by his hospital supervisor, I got to speak to him and he was rude and when I said that I wanted my mom transfer my mom to another hospital, instead of explaining my mom's diagnosis, and showing any care or interest in my mom, he told me to go ahead and transfer her. His supervisor wrote up my complaint and submitted it to the record. I can see from the other reviews that he is a bad doctor and should have his license revoked. Avoid this man.

I would not recommend Dr. Issa to my worst enemy! I met him at Community Hospital. He was treating my 90 year old dimentia friend two years ago. As we were headed off to rehab care, Dr. Issa took my friend off of most of her medication. Why I asked. He had said that she doesn't need all that medication. I couldn't believe that he said that. I went ahead and put her back on her medication.

Dr Issa was assigned to my 36 yo daughter who was admitted from the ER for CRPS pain. Neuro + pain management consults were called. He spent < 30 sec a day at her bedside. He discharged her after 7d without seeing her that day or consulting with the pain doc who was in the middle of trying a new combo of drugs to help get the flare under control. She was receiving IV meds. We asked to speak to him - never came. We were told if we refused discharge it would cost 4K a day. Pain doc not happy.

DR Issa cared for my Mother when she was admitted with pneumonia. Though marked improvement was noted over night from the treatment given her in the ER, her condition went downhill quickly after DR Issa took over. Calling my own DR in due to the lack of care being given he said her care was barbaric and her prognosis poor. She passed away after he left word she'd be fine. I believe the lack of proper care given by DR Issa contributed greatly to her death. He was never available at any time.

Dr. Issa would arrive at my 85 year old mother's hospital room at 5pm or later during the week. He never introduced himself, or asked who I was. He literally spent less than 30 seconds in the room, and would start to walk out, I would have to start asking him questions immediately to find out what was going on with my mother. He did not care about my mother's well being. I don't know why LB Memorial uses him as a hospitalist, but maybe it's because he only spends 30 seconds per patient.

Dr Issa would not return our phone calls, or even stay in the hospital room long enough to answer questions about my 85 year old father. He walked in the hospital room , said the MRI was negative, turned around and walked out. My father could not even sit up in bed and Issa was ready to discharge him without giving us any diagnosis or clarity on his condition. Clearly he doesn't enjoy his job and is there to check off another patient and collect money. Worst doctor I have ever encountered
