Dr. Imbesi should lose his license!!! Zero regard for his patients. My mother went in for a routine colonoscopy, and it turned into a year long nightmare. He created a tear in here colon the size of a nickel, which he didn’t see and or just didn’t say anything about. A day later my mother is in the ER going septic due to the tear. She had to have emergency surgery, which resulted in her losing 13” of her colon. She is going to live with issues from this for the rest of her life. When Dr. Imbesi’s office was contacted about this he failed to reach back out at all. Thank god for the doctors my mother had to do the surgery to fix the result of his mistake. Thankfully she did not end up with a colostomy bag. My parents should have taken this very far, but chose to be the bigger people. I wanted to let people or potential client know about the danger of this man. STAY AWAY from Dr. Imbesi’s office, find someone else. Do not trust this man!

Without permission, he lifted up my dress to expose my stomach and started pressing down on it, hard. And without gloves. There was no warning or mention of him needing to do a stomach exam whatsoever. I still would've felt uneasy with him lifting up my dress, but it would've at least prepared me to have known what was going to occur. He pushed deeply into my stomach. Immediately, I make noises of discomfort and tell him that part is very tender. He does it again to a different area and I have the same response: noises of discomfort and telling him that part is tender and the area that's causing me discomfort. He then proceeds to push deeply down through my entire abdomen area, including the lower abdomen/pelvic region. He did it around six times before switching to a new technique. It felt like he was softly punching me with a flat palm. The pressure was immense. It was painful. With every motion he did, I let him know that it was uncomfortable, that it was sensitive, and made noises of discomfort. That was not enough for him to stop. I had to physically move my body away from him and tell him okay, the lower abdomen area is very tender because I'm on my period right now. He awkwardly stopped. There was no mention of his findings from this stomach exam, and no explanation as to why it was given after we had already agreed upon a course of treatment beforehand. I spent the rest of the day in bed with worse stomach pain than I had gone in with, and have both sharp and dull pains in my right hip region. I have a previous medical issue with this area being torn open six months ago, and I fear this doctor has torn it open again, after months of slowly healing. If he had given me a heads up, I would have let him know about that area so he could avoid it. But he didn't listen to my complaints of pain, nor did he give me advance notice of the stomach exam. I am considering my next course of action regarding this matter.

Office staff was unhelpful and poor at coordinating procedure. Waited 2 hours for colonoscopy and had to change in a cramped office. Afterwards, the doctor was unapologetic and gave a poor consultation. Overall, bad experience.

This person who masquerades as a doctor, destroyed my father's liver during a colonoscopy. This damage led to immense suffering & pain for the duration of his life, which ended shortly after the damage took place. Don't trust doctors - they all defend each other. And this one will not prolong your life.

DR JOHN IMBESI IS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR. I had a colonoscopy and he was very compassionate, professional and friendly. My first office visit prior to the procedure he explained everything in detail. The day of my procedures, he came over to me to ask if I had questions, and after the procedure he came to the recovery room and explained that all was good. That was a relief to know. I will recommend Dr Imbesi to my family and friends. His office staff is friendly and helpful.
