Dr. John Haney, MD

One year ago today Dr. Haney freed my dear husband's heart from the deadly clutches of constrictive pericarditis. At our house, we proclaim this day as 'Heart Emancipation Day'. Tomorrow we will joyfully celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. Thank you and God bless you and your family, Dr. Haney. We are cycling at the ocean and working out together at the gym again - the life we love!

Dr Haney performed a double lung transplant on my husband on December 15,2024. He truly saved my husband’s life! We were so scared, but Dr Haney and the entire transplant team treated us like we were family! Dr Haney obviously is a skilled surgeon, but what stood out most to us was empathy, compassion, and confidence! . He took the time answered all of our questions and we were at total peace! He truly is a blessing to our family!

Dr. Haney was my first consultation at Duke medical center for a bilateral lung transplant. I had previously been turned down by the medical University of South Carolina, so I did not have high hopes going into this appointment, but I was pleasantly surprised that he was very confident they could help me even though I had such severe acid reflux. He was amazing to work with so personable took his Time never in a rush, answered all plus my husband’s questions and the caregivers questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Haney to anyone looking for a lung or heart transplant.

Dr Haney performed lung transplant surgery on me on September 15,2022. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results so far. He is very personable as well as skilled in his profession.

Dr Haney helped perform my double lung transplant. He cares a lot about his patients. I once ran into him at the hospital. He had just completed a major all night surgery and he still took the time to visit with me to see how I was doing. He genuinely cares about his patients. I am grateful that he helped with my surgery and so thankful for his knowledge and concern.
