In Oct 2018 he saw me at firsthealth in Pinehurst and said I had appendicitis. He treated me with antibiotics for a while then said everything looked healed so he said he would discharge me home. I told him I was in pain and he said he couldn't operate because he was going on vacation in a HR so I left firsthealth and went straight to UNC er and they said my appendix was about to rupture so took me back to surgery and fixed it and they also fixed a umbilical hernia that he refused to operate on because he said it was too big of a risk for him. I do not recommend anyone to go to this dr

About six years ago a small lump appeared near my belly button. I went to my primary care physician where he diagnosed it as an umbilical hernia. He said not to worry about unless it started hurting or got to big. It kept enlarging until he said it was time to do something about it. He referred me to Dr. Fessenden. Dr. Fessenden agreed, we scheduled the out-patient surgery to implant a mesh. During the post operation appointment Dr. Fessenden said “your back will blow out before the mesh fa

I was referred to Dr. Fessenden for removal of a "growth" on my head. He was fantastic from our first consultation. He was knowledgeable , charming and empathetic to my needle/scalpel/blood phobia. Excellent bedside manner and genuine.

This doctor hurt me . He made my condition worse by doing things your not suppose to do to someone with my condition . I saw him 3 times and he could not diagnose the problem all the while making it worse . I went to a doctor at Wake Med in Cary he had me diagnosed within seconds literally and now has me in recovery . Fessenden would not even call me back after a scheduled surgery . Do not waste your time with fessenden or first health go to Wake Med in Cary you will be much better off . Macri

Dr. Fessenden was assigned as my surgeon while I was in the ER. After the surgery, he never bothered to report to me or my husband. The next day, he came to my hospital room and told me that I could go home. I was septic and he had not prescribe me any antibiotics. Only after I had further discussion with the nurse did Dr. F prescribe me antibiotics and acknowledge that I should remain in the hospital. Two weeks later, another doctor found an abscess that was a result of the surgery.

Wonderful surgeon. Trust him as a surgeon. Other than myself, another family member had surgery by Dr. Fessenden. No complications. Would recommend him to family and friends. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
