Amazing work
John Edwards did amazing work for me. I had bulged discs in my lumbar. We tried multiple discectomies with no avail. He was hesitant to work on me cause I am only 36. We decided that a lumbar fusion would be my best option. I was really nervous since my good friend’s dad had a terrible experience with a different clinic in sandy. John surpassed my expectations and truly delivered a miracle for me. I have no pain other than some si joint pain, this was to be expected. Most of these negative reviews about people not liking his staff. All you have to do is yell at them and they’ll take you more seriously :).

Stay Away
Stay away. Dr. Edwards is nice, but he botched my surgery, and I have still not recovered now over a year since he did it. He poked a hole in the dural wall causing a cerebral spinal fluid leak, that took a year and 2 more surgeries to fix, and after that, the disc he worked on re-herniated, so Im in worse shape than I was before I saw him, much worse.

I had cervical spine surgery on my C4,C5,C6, C7 and C8 walk out of hospital same day.Had my 4 week post op apt. I have great range of motion no pain. They told me I was good to go with daily activities and exercise. Just start out slow and work your way up to my regular stamina. No PT necessary. AMAZING. I would recommend Dr. Edwards to anyone. Who ever had bad reviews on here must of not did what they where told to do. Because I feel amazing.

Dr. Edwards Gave me my life back
After months of getting the run around and being put off at the UofU Neurosciences clinic and system with incredible pain and numbness in my arms, my physical therapist recommended Dr. Edwards to me. He is an incredible person and surgeon. I can't say enough about how great my entire experience was with him and his whole team. It was refreshing to find a surgeon and his team who listened to me and showed so much care. After my initial visit he called me at home after hours to see how I was feeling. After recognizing the severity of my condition he got me scheduled for surgery within a week. The disc replacement surgery was perfect. I healed quickly and feel amazing. He literally gave me my life back. I can't recommend him enough! In fact I've already sent several friends and family to him. Thank you Dr. Edwards!

Terrible office to work with
Hard to get seen, even harder to get anything done in any reasonable time frame. Dr Edwards may be a fine surgeon, but this is the worst office I have ever dealt with in my 60 years of living, any and all types of Doctors offices included. Would not recommend at all. I had a failed surgery done here, now that it is far more painful than ever, and it has been going on for over a decade, they want me to start all over with therapy and injections...things I have already done many times (dozens) with no good results, which is what lead to surgery in the first place. Someone (his P.A.) who was likely in Jr. High when this all started is telling me I know nothing and need to begin from scratch...again. Highly frustrated with this office and will never return. May God help you if you ask for a pain pill for literal life altering pain. I cannot function at all and am miserable. She plainly told me they would only make it worse. Vast experience tells me that is a outright lie.

I met with Tyler and felt that he truly cared about my concerns and was very good at looking at the whole picture regarding my concerns with my health. Together we explored different options and ways to proceed to get me on the road to feeling better.

Dr. Edwards did my ACDF surgery three years ago, and it did relieve my symptoms for almost three years. Since developing new/recurring symptoms, I have only seen his NPs and PAs. But they are excellent, and I am happy with their service.

Unprofessional
Waited a long time for this appt. Says on Select Health portal they are excepting new patients. I called to confirm they were, said yes. Don't get to meet with the actual doctor, you meet with someone to take notes, the same thing you can do over the phone. Live an hour away. The assistants say what they'd do but they're not the Doc. Then blow me off day of 2nd appt saying they have no record of an appt or anything and do I have insurance. They made the appt. She offers to make future 3rd appt, have not even met the Doc yet. Receptionist says someone will get back to me in 24-48 hours. Because she screwed up the appt? Doc texted me and said he'd call. Nothing. Crickets. Weird way to run a business. If you don't want to be taken seriously, this is the place for you. Dr. Edwards wants you to know he's very busy and tired. Staff is a clown show. That's pretty much it. Got better treatment at the candle store in the mall. Surprised by the good reviews to be honest. Never ev

I do not know what to think of this Practice. Dr. Edwards is a nice man. He took the time to call me on is off time (After 8pm) a couple of months before I could get on his schedule. Things seemed to be going along fine. I do not live in the area and had to travel to see him. This was an expensive trip for me. Dr. Edwards genuinely seemed interested in helping. But after my initial appointment there was no follow up - I was expecting to proceed forward after doing what he had asked. I found out his PA/NP (Shae) had quit. I left messages and no one ever returned my calls. Very strange. What more can I do? The billing office was quick to call... aren't they all. This office can be hard to get ahold of actual people. You have to wait for call backs. Most of the staff were friendly. I get that they are a busy office, but they appear to be disorganized. Perhaps he is taking on too much of a workload? The office was packed with patients.

I found Dr. Edwards online and called that day. I filled out the new patient form and received a call from Dr.Edwards that day. I have been in need of an appointment with a neurosurgeon since January, with all other offices being unable to get me in until May. I was more than excited that I have now seen Dr. Edwards and plans have been made to help me with my condition.

He saved my life when all odds were against him. He's amazing in all the ways a person and doctor can be. And as far as neurosurgeons go, Dr. John Edward's and his nurse practioner Shea, aare both incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable, informed about all the latest advances in their field. They are very accommodating, and they have gone above and beyond the extra mile to help me when I've needed it. Finally, they are both very empathetic, understanding and Dr. Edward's is so very kind. He made me feel important, never was I overlooked or put on th e back burner for any reason. He gave me my life back and still addresse my health issues as they arise, seeing things through so as to resolve things, doibg whatever is necessary to restore me back to my ideal health as much as possible. Dr. Edwarda and Shea, you are both the absolute best and I thank you for my life today.

Had reverse shoulder replacement surgery in early November. We chose Dr Gary Edwards because he was younger and knowledgeable on the latest techniques for shoulder replacements. Things have gone very well after surgery, even starting passive physical therapy 2 weeks after surgery.

Comprehensive patient care seems to be the objective. I learned that the Edwards doctors are brothers with complementary specialties and consult together for patient care. That was impressive. Actually, when my MRI results were available, the doctor, himself, called me. He presented a plan and ask if it was agreeable with me. We then proceeded. I felt like a team member in my own care. Respect was appreciated. The PA's were knowledgeable and consulted with the doctors in a team effort. Communication was excellent. Concerns were heard and addressed. Under most circumstances, patients can expect a conservative and careful approach before surgery is considered. If a patient wishes to discuss alternative care options, that discussion is respected. A staff member helps weary patients with referrals and scheduling of any ordered tests.
