And I'm being seen by a neurosurgeon for what???
Referred to AMC Neurosurgery to be followed for a syrinx in my thoracic spine diagnosed about 16 years ago. When the LPN (really nice person) was bringing me back to the exam room, she said that the secretary was asking about MRI radiology report and images for my lower back. The office didn't have either. No one called me to ask me to have them sent over. MRI for t-spine images and report were available. He showed me what the syrinx looked like, which I appreciated. No one had shown me this before. He talked about what the procedure to remove the fluid in the syrinx is. This information is helpful. He did suggested that I start taking one of the new weight loss injectible medications and lose 40 pounds. I found this disconcerting as none of my other medical providers ever suggested it.

I’ve had pseudo tumor cerebri since I was 17, I am now 39 and just recently started seeing dalfino and he’s the absolute worse! He constantly brushes me off when I know something isn’t right! He didn’t order my spinal tap and here I am a month later and still no tap (I’ve had over 27) I have a shunt that I believe has failed (again) this will be my third brain surgery and I DO NOT WANT THIS MAN TO DO IT! I miss my old neurosurgeon which was Dr. Tyler Kennings… he was the absolute best!! This guy right here is a joke

Dr.Dalfino is the worst neurosurgeon i have ever seen. I had diagnosed IIH, when i got there he said i was simply too fat and that it was because i was female. He said he didn’t think i had it despite all of my testing and neuro team did then. He told me if i do one more spinal tap and it was elevated he would do a shunt. He did not. When I came in to discuss our options, he brought up how i had a history of self harm and i would give myself an infection. I haven’t self harmed in over 9 years when i saw him and i was cleared by providers. Furthermore,I had two surgeries prior and no issues with picking at the incision site. I ended care with him while still losing my vision and having IIH simply because he didn’t want to do the work. He was rude and condescending. I have since had a shunt places 1 year after i saw him, by a neurosurgeon in the same practice who is wonderful. Dalfino, is awful and i’d highly suggest seeing anyone else in the practice.

When I was 17 years old, the spinal fluid pressure had hemorrhaged through my left eye. I was rushed by ambulance to a hospital where they did an emergency spinal tap to remove some of the excess spinal fluid that was causing pressure in my brain and behind my eyes. Over the years I’ve had about 5-6 spinal taps, numerous medications and have avoided the idea of a shunt by only going to the neurologist when the symptoms of this were too much to handle. Today, I have neurosurgeons that are uneducated in this diagnosis but tests are showing loss of vision, flattened arteries and pituitary (all indicitive of high brain pressure) in my ct scan and all the symptoms are present and getting worse since before covid hit. No one currently is helping and I’m afraid of losing more function before I can get to someone who will. Dr. Delphino is delaying my medical care and progressive symptoms because he thinks with one meeting and no medical history but one lumbar puncture that I don’t have this.

Dr Dalfino took me through 3 surgeries and is the greatest! Unfortunately, I need a 4th surgery and Dr Dalfino referred me to another neurosurgeon who he said was more qualified to do the type of surgery that I need! I will miss you Dr Dalfino! You and your staff are the best! I miss you all already! Much thanks!

I was bought to Albany Medical Center as I was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm. I was so scared and he made my journey feel comfortable. The care and thoughtfulness of the young doctor was incredible--he explained everything to my family so we understood what needed to take place. He even allowed us to pray with him before surgery. 5 years after my initial surgery, I am feeling incredible. I am forever thankful to Dr. Dalfino and the wonderful nursing staff at Albany Medical Center
