Dr. John Cowan Jr, MD

If you want to be labeled as a drug addict looking to get more drugs from a doctor than he's your pick - he told my husband that the episodes that he was having just a narcotics withdraw - however my husband has only had medication in his name for 6 months and none were narcotics - will never use him or allow him to touch my husband - after stay in hospital my husband has a nerve issue that needed a nerve study done to see what nerves are dead and what nerves are repairable - he was having a 'nerve seizures' - he only judges a book by the cover he doesn't even look at the charts to see what you are in hospital for if he did he would have seen that my husband just started having issues in Sept of 23 -

Rude and narcissistic.

No words can describe how great my experience with Dr. Cowan was. I anticipated after my visit, having to wait a while for surgery while in agonizing pain. Instead, he jumped right on it. I've never had a Doctor ask to pray with me before surgery. He was very down to earth, kind, humble, and easy to talk to, which helped settle my nerves. I wish all doctors were like him. I most highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Cowan!

I cant even express the words for this Doctor. He has no concern for whatso ever on his patients or the families of the patients. No consult or concerns or anything before or after surgery. We are suppost to be able to TRUST. I cant get it out of my head that I let this doctor do surgery on my family.

My appointment that I initially waited three months for, (realistically waited years for)- to speak to a specialist, finally!... got bumped to the next day in which caused chaos and waiting room time to be over the top. I have had a list of questions in my head and to finally get REAL answers I felt would be worth the wait. None of my questions was given a chance to be asked... Dr. Cowan spent MY time... my 45 dollar co-pay, time... campaigning his run for Congress.. I tried to get a question out there as he was headed towards the door and it was if I was ridiculous to ask. Being herded in and out like cattle, I sat for a few seconds shaking my head in disbelief. Another wait time outside the exam room, to turn in a useless paper to someone behind a desk, in which I did not wait. The whole time spent with this doctor was maybe five minutes. I want my money back for services not rendered. I won't be his patient and definitely won't be a voter for him.

Considerate, friendly, caring and remains professional during visits. I would recommend him as a neurosurgeon

My first impression...arrogant!!I have been in pain since January or 2018. I have seen 7 Dr's since March of 2018, Dr Cowan was #8. I provided x-rays and an MRI. He walked into the exam room, no hello, no introduction, no asking me what brought me there or why. The first thing out of his mouth was "There is nothing I can surgically do for you." My jaw dropped to the floor. He spent approximately 5 minutes talking to me, referred me to pain management Dr., shook my hand and walked out the door.

A truly competent and amazing surgeon. He takes the time to see his patients before surgery, and makes sure they are fully informed of their condition and risks before a procedure. I originally had appointments scheduled with several physicians to assess my condition, but after meeting with Dr. Cowan I canceled the others. He made me feel confident and cared for.

Dont use this Doctor. If its Serious, dont trust him to help you .

Been using Dr Cowan since 2008. Have recommended several family and friends to him.

I would and have recommended Dr Cowan to many people, even to my brother who he did surgery on also. Dr. Cowan has done several back surgeries on me and I would never let another Dr. touch my back other than him.. I saw another Dr before him who was very rude and I had decided to live with my back pain but my family Dr. insisted that I at least talk to Dr Cowan and I sure am glad that I did because now I don't have back pain anymore he took care of that, so if you have pain call him please.

I was very pleased with everyone, especially Dr Cowen. They did not waste anytime to get me in for surgery. Also to have prayer with me and my family before surgery. This really eased my families mind. Thank you so much.

Dr cowan done surgery on my son.He is the best doctor, has excellant bed side manners and also cares about his patients well being. He said a prayer with the family before surgery. I would recommend Dr Cowan to anybody!
