Insurance nightmare
Went for my first preventative colon cancer screening in January. Dr. Clements was knowledgeable and very professional however office staff is not responsive and has no clue about billing insurance claims. Have made multiple phone calls to the office about re-coding and re-billing an insurance claim. I either have to leave a message or get told someone will call me which they never do. Office is trying to pass the buck on Lake Norman health systems and Dr. Clements office says I need to call the hospital for billing questions. Anyway no one on either side seems to know who I need to speak with to get this issue solved. Very frustrating and I will definitely never be back to this office or facility again.

Early march I was sick and did not know what was wrong. I saw Dr Clements and was given a colonoscopy and endoscopy. After my diagnosis I continued to be in pain and was told to "suck it up" until I got on the medicine that he insisted I get on without explanation as to why this drug was the one for me. I was put in the hospital late march and Dr Clements did not believe that the hospital and CT correctly diagnosed me so I was not given minimally invasive surgery. Months go by and I was not put on any medication except prednisone. I continued the have pain and was told it is part of my diagnosis and I needed to "push through" and "hang in there". Finally, May comes and I was able to start the medication he recommended. The day after, I was in the ER because the pain continued to get worse. Two days later I was under the knife for an exploratory laparotomy. I had an infection growing that if not taken care of would have been life threatening. Also, I had a bowel resection and temporary

He is an absolutely terrible doctor. He has a God complex, doesn’t listen to his patients, doesn’t bother to read the history of a patient, and could easily cost someone their life. He is damn lucky my mother survived this weekend or I would have his medical license.

I keep waiting to hear about a malpractice case after having gone to him many years ago and thankfully getting a second opinion for which he never reached our or voiced concern. Recently my (new) PCP referred me to him because of the medical group he is in. I asked my PCP point blank why not someone else, and he told me “well, I wouldn't blame you as most people don’t like him.” The pressure LNMG has to support their own is astonishing. Dr Clements cannot be swayed by logic or data- he does what he wants to do without listening or concern. It seems a few screws are loose.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Clemments for many years. He has always been top-notch. When the hospital wouldn't refund me after an over charge, I wrote Dr. Clemments a letter, and a refund was swiftly received. He is very good in his procedures and we trust him.

I saw Dr Clements today, had a 10:20am appt, called back to the exam room at 11:30. Waiting another 15 minutes. He spent about 3.5 minutes with me. Every time I tried to talk and tell him what was going on, he interrupted me and repeated what I said while typing into his laptop. He didn't hear a word I said. At the end of my 3.5 minutes with him I said "um my appt was for 10:20am" he looked at me with a blank stare and I said "it's almost noon" his response "there are lot of sick people" RUN

Lousy followup: I've been hospitalized 3 times for internal bleeding. Last hospital trip resulted in a "camera pill" swallow procedure. That was at the end of September 2017. It is now the middle of December and I still have not heard from him or been given a diagnosis. He's professional & nice when he is WITH a patient, & hospital/staff seems to think well of him. Follow up is non-existant.

I wanted to write a review because I saw the negative ones and felt I should share my perspective. I love Dr. Clements. I just had a colonoscopy at his Huntersville location and it really was a 5 star experience. I didn't wait long, all of the staff were very friendly and helped me to calm down and were very reassuring. Dr. Clements was great, gave me excellent feedback on the procedure. I have been to him twice and my husband once and I would highly recommend!
