The closest person to god in human form is Dr Chabot. He is the epitome of what a surgeon should be. Kind, caring, considerate. He performed a whipple procedure on my father. Even before the procedure we could tell he wasn’t like any other doctor we encountered— and we encountered a few. It was the first time my dad was ill & our first bout with doctors & hospital so we tried to get as many opinions as possible all over the country. We travelled from FL to different places including seeing multiple doctors in NY. Dr Chabot was the first and only doctor who showed us 3D body parts explaining what the problem was and how to solve it. He is an obvious giant in his field yet he was humble, compassionate, and patient with my dad and all us family members suffering from the worse ordeal of our lives. We had complications post surgery but him and his team handled it with utmost care ensuring we were informed at all times & not fearful. Like all great teams Dr. Chabot is surrounded by some world class personnel - Dr Sferra met us the day of the surgery & always there for us through the discharge process & after. Whenever Dr Sferra came by we were relieved knowing we are in equally competent hands. Big shoutout to the rest of the team as well (Dr. levin, Dr pressler, the fellows, all of em!) Even our nursing staff - Andy, Jessica, Paula, DJ, Manni, Patti & rest. Always thoughtful, caring & accommodating! The PT gentleman from Greece was like Hercules always encouraging and helping recover faster. There was even a staff member who always gave us shoutouts and wished us well on our walks — much appreciated ?? While we certainly wouldn’t wish the ordeal of cancer upon anyone— if you or your loved ones are suffering this tragedy there isn’t a better person to keep your loved ones safe than Dr Chabot & his team. Thank you, Dr. Chabot!! (From our entire family)

very pleased with Dr Chabot
My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in april of 2023. Three months of chemotherapy didn't do much to shrink the tumor. The first doctor said it still couldn't be resected because of entanglement with some veins, and a second one suggested radiation and said it might become resectable afterwards. We went to Dr Chabot who reviewed the CT with us and told us confidently he could perform the surgery. Not only that, but he also said he could resect the tumor even if it were a little larger. We went from being very worried and feeling some hopelessness to great relief and hope. The Whipple surgery was a long difficult six hours, but it went well. My mom recovered quickly and the CT three months after the surgery showed a clear picture with no signs of cancerous growth. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Top Notch Surgeon!
I was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor, under the care of the Columbia's Endocrinology Team, I have been monitored carefully until finally the tumor was located and was large enough to excise. I went into surgery not knowing the extent of surgery needed but truly trusting Dr. Chabot and his Team. What I can assure anyone considering this TEAM, they will work to make sure your outcome is the least invasive and will support you thru prep, surgery, recovery-24/7. Pancreas surgery is VERY Serious, it is important to do your research and only consider a doctor with the necessary credentials and experience. Dr. Chabot is a one stop pancreas expert, if you have the good fortune of finding him, you will be in excellent hands.

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Dr. Chabot is! His professionalism, bedside manner, medical expertise, follow-up care, etc is all superior to any experience I've had in my life with a medical professional. He has substantial experience in this specialty, has seen it all, knows what he's doing and after my partial pancreatectomy w/ spleen removal, was able to completely preserve my pancreas at full functionality. I went to Dr. Chabot this summer for surgery to remove a very large cyst with malignant potential in a few years (no malignancy threat at time of removal or after review by pathology). He saved my life. The team of professionals that Dr. Chabot works with are stellar individuals. They're caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, the list goes on! I and my family trust Dr. Chabot and his team with my life. Thanks to his expertise, I'm now living my absolute best and healthiest life.

I have highest confidence in dr chabot. He is a great surgeon who left my pancreas fully functioning just after two weeks after surgery. Unfortunately cancer was discovered in the tissue that was removed. As a precaution I will receive chemo therapy. I find dr chabot to be very thorough and his bed side manner very soothing.

Awful! Dr Chabot performed surgery removing partial tail of my pancreas some years ago. He explained the surgery: what he was removing and why. We agreed he was also removing my spleen. After operating, he told me he decided to do spleen-saving surgery to show his students how that was done. He left me with hyperplasia at the margin. Also, the pathologist misdiagnosed my type of tumor. (I had my slides sent to five pathologists at great hospitals, all of whom disagreed w/her).
