Stubborn, Doesn't Listen
Post surgery, I told Dr. Avallone, something didn't feel right as if my leg was on wrong. I was told to wait 3 weeks, than 3 months, then it was my fault as I didn't do therapy correctly. Whatever was wrong was my fault. I was told I didn't do therapy intense enough. I was a football player and competitive powerlifter. I think I know all about effort and intensity. Long story short, the tendon on one side of my leg wasn't placed correctly. It literally popped into place (very loud, very painful) 9 months later. Next day I was walking perfectly fine. I begged him to do an MRI at least 10 times and he refused to do so. Also, doesn't listen, unless your telling him something positive, he just speaks over you. I suffered for 9 months because of his stubbornness, refusal to listen, and unwillingness to perform a diagnostic.

My dog’s vet is more caring
Dr Avallone showed complete lack of concern or empathy. After his callous treatment I saw an outstanding surgeon who scheduled me for surgery within 2 weeks. He was shocked that another doctor hadn’t done so after seeing my hip X-rays and showing me the extreme damage to both of my hip joints.

Cannot recommend him
I did not have a good experience with Dr. Avallone and wonder why some patients rave about him. He did not take time with me and seemed to dismiss my pain. He told me to “come back when the pain gets too bad” and this was when I could barely walk. He neglected to phone in a prescription as promised and left me without anything over a three day weekend, even after I called the office. Needless to say, I went to another surgeon who scheduled me for hip replacement immediately and told me I would be crippled if I waited much longer. I am actually grateful that I had such a negative experience with Dr. Avallone because I found another doctor and had an outstanding result.

Discussed my concern of having my legs being uneven after surgery. Was assured, no problem and was told pins would be placed to measure the limb. No pins were ever used and ended up with a 3/4 in. limb length difference that has caused leg and especially back problems. Not a good result.

I took my mother to see Dr. Avallone for pain in her knees and lower back. He was extremely attentive, answered all questions. Both my mother & I couldn't have been more pleased with the respect and attentiveness to detail he displayed. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

John Avallone, ( Dr. Avallone ) and I have known each other for years. His abilities and skills are the best I've ever seen, I recommend patients to him all of the time, they all come back to me saying the same thing. They say the pain is gone and he's an amazing surgeon. His bed side manor is second to none and how happy they are, they cant believe they found such a great person. I reply I know that's why I sent you to him. He's done work on me, he truly amazing. I have no hesitation with him.

I went to Dr Avallone for a 2nd opinion. He was so thorough in explaining the situation in understandable terms, and he not only listened to my concerns, but he showed me everything he was explaining so I could understand.
