Dr. John Andrawis, MD

Dr Andrawis is very friendly, I felt very comfortable and relaxed at my appointment. He took the time to explain the procedure for my hip replacement, even showing me a 3D model. He also took the time to answer all of my questions. He also seems very confident which I appreciate in a surgeon.He comes highly recommended by Physical Therapists I have worked with.

I had full knee joint replacement surgery done about 10 weeks ago by Dr. Andrawis. He is very caring and explains in detail. My surgery was supposed to be partial, however I requested him to do the full as I did not want to have another partial a few years later. He explained that because I had ACL replacement 20 years back it may be difficult to get the titanium screw out and it could cause complications. He said he woul try his best. My surgery went very well. When I woke up from the surgery, Dr. Andrawis came to see me and told me that he was able to get the screw out and so he did the full replacement. Thank you Dr. Andrawis. I had very little pain, maybe 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 throughout the recovery period. I only took acetaminophen for the first two weeks and then stopped it too. I was afraid of excruciating pain because some of my friends who had gone through this surgery complained of extensive pain even after a month. I recovered fully in 6 weeks. Highly recommend him

Dr Andrawis kept my mom waiting close to an hour, then spent only few minutes with her and rushed her out. When she asked him what can I do to get better, he told her nothing, it’s old age( very rude) and when she asked for any exercise to help her with knee pain, he says go see physiotherapist. When she asked for a copy of her X Ray he said why you need it? Just take a screenshot! The office was so discussing, staff so rude and doctor was so uncaring. Do not go there.

He was so attentive and friendly. Such a nice doctor! He took the time to show me my MRI and explain it to me. Made such a difference for me. I left feeling so much more confident in my decision. I will be referring him other patients in need of his speciality.

Dr. Andrawis' conversation is quick & to the point but he knows his stuff! My hip replacement 9 months ago went perfectly. The nurses at Torrance Memorial Hospital, said they like his work. They've never seen a patient of his with an infection. I was walking after a few hours with a walker and less than a week with a cane. By the end of week two, I was walking unassisted. It's time for the other hip to be replaced. I have no worries or hesitation. I know what to expect and I can't wait to be able to walk normal again!

My total knee replacement went extremely well and I'm healing very nicely. Dr Andrawis is competent, personable and listens to the patient.

Dr. Andrawis is an outstanding doctor! Outstanding in every way: Highly intelligent and skilled; and he also has excellent social skills. I was very lucky to have Dr. Andrawis do my hip replacement, and I am truly grateful to have my ability to walk restored!

I highly recommend Dr. Andrawis as an joint replacement surgeon. He is kind, a clear communicator and a skilled surgeon. In January 2022 Dr. Andrawis replaced my right hip. I only wish that I had done it sooner. I hadn't realized how much of my daily life was affected by me compensating for the pain. The surgery and recovery was a breeze. On June 19, Dr. Andrawis replaced my right knee. Today is day 11 and though I have a way to go with physical therapy, I am off of pain medication, walking to the corner and back without any assistance and my pain is no worse than before the surgery, just different. I feel very positive about soon being able to enjoy the activities that I used to. In addition, the PAs are very knowledgeable and his office is very organized, responsive and efficient. Five stars for sure!

Dr Andrawis is not only kind and patient but an excellent surgeon. On your first appointment, he spends lots of time with you to answer any questions you might have and explains in detail what to expect. He did a fantastic job on my hip replacement. He’s reassuring afterwards and makes sure everything is going well. The office staff are wonderful and I love his PA, Josefina Baca-Asher. I couldn’t ask for a better experience! Highly recommend!

Dr Andrawis is an excellent surgeon. He is kind, articulate, sensitive, patient and smart. I recommended him to my coworker. His team members have great customer service as well.

I doubt I can put into words how grateful I am for my surgical experience with Dr Andrawis and his staff!! Not only did he thoroughly explain my procedure and what to expect but he performed such an incredible job with the Mako Robotic Arm that my recovery was much easier than I could've possibly imagined! I did a LOT of research and spoke with other individuals that had the surgery so I thought I understood every aspect. Yet I wasn't nearly as incapacitated as I expected; I was up and walking, doing regular things in my life much sooner than I had planned. He is incredibly friendly, professional, easy to talk to, and truly interested in my experience as a patient. I have a great deal of respect for him as a person and a surgeon. By the time I saw Dr Andrawis my injury was almost healed. Nevertheless, he listened to everything I had to say without interruption, explained what caused the pain I had been experiencing and clearly explained treatment options. I left his office knowing that my decision to allow my knee to heal naturally was best for me.

I am extremely happy with my knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Andrawis and I look forward to having him replace my other knee in the near future. He thoughtfully answers questions and has a very positive attitude.
