I have had Dr. Anderson for a few years now. He has always listened, asked questions, only ordered tests he though were needed. I think he's an excellent healthcare provider. I'd recommend him.

I never felt like he was 'into' my over all health. I was not asked questions like I am from other doctors. I felt like he was just going through the motions. I especially didn't like when I was still having conversation with him, and he was walking toward the door and opening it to leave. I actually hated that. It made me feel that he was rushed and if you get that feeling, you kind of feel he does not have your best interest at heart. The only reason I saw this doctor was because my previous doctor to him, quit unexpectedly, and I needed someone fast. My best move was to leave his care and go back to a previous doctor. I would NOT recommend this guy, at all.

This review is specific to Dr. John Anderson’s office in McHenry - The staff does not listen to what you say, I asked for a referral to an ortho over a week ago and specifically told them what insurance to contact and here I am 36 hours before my ortho appt and not only has the referral not been received but the office didn’t request it from the insurance that I told them to. They requested it from an insurance that is no longer active so now I can’t go to my appt because they messed up. This is not the first time things like this have happened. Requests also take weeks, they don’t submit them when they say that they are going to or they don’t do it at all, Dr. Anderson’s bedside manor is very stiff, rude and makes you feel like you shouldn’t have said anything at all when you bring up any issues. I’ve been going to this office for 10+ years and it has gotten worse and worse, it’s time to find a new doctor that will actually listen and has staff that does what they are supposed to.

HORRIBLE doctor. Took my dad off psyche meds he'd been on for over 25 years (that were working) to put him on a "newer" med and my dad spiraled into suicidal depression, got committed to a mental hospital in Wisconsin and almost a year later trying to get him home....but no one will take him now. Would prefer NO Stars at all.

Love Dr. Anderson and his whole staff. I had to switch doctors due to location convenience and let me tell you, he treated me like I’ve been his patient for years. He listened to my concerns and issues and answered all my questions and even properly diagnosed my condition, (the McHenry Hospital ER MISSED diagnosed me twice) Dr. Anderson really shows he cares about his patients and won’t let you leave until you are 100% satisfied with your visit.

This is the most patient doctor I've ever had he's dealt with me for a while now and I've got so many issues she takes one at a time he takes his time and he really really make sure he has the right diagnosis and referred me to the proper dr. every time I'm very happy with him and I've never had a better doctor and I have searched for a long time to find a doctor that really really cares about the people

Staff is dangerously poor. I've run out of refills for insulin with the staff informing me they would not refill them until I saw the doctor. Understood. I called for an apt. and the soonest they could get me in was a month and a half. Really? I went 5 days without Lantus insulin simply bcuz they wouldn't respond to my calls, despite the criticality of need. The doc himself is okay, stiff like a verbatim reading of WebMD but he seems overworked and is not particularly great with people.
