Dr. Joel Wolfe, MD

I broke my leg in TheTetons on June 2, 2018. I had surgery involving screws in my upper femur in Jackson Hole. I live in Michigan. I followed up with Dr. Wolfe who upon looking at my X-ray predicted possible future problems. This did occur and in June, 2020 he did a posterior total hip replacement removing said screws. During the period between the two procedures he kept an active watch on me as deterioration developed in the hip. During this time I was having increasing pain and lack of mobility. I had a highly successful replacement with very little pain and not a single problem from the beginning and I have a low pain tolerance. I was walking well from the beginning and driving probably before I was supposed to with no pain. I can now do things like tying my shoes that I couldn’t do since I broke my leg. Dr. Wolfe is a caring person who definitely cares about his patients and listens and explains well. He will tell you the truth in a gentle manner. I am a very happy patient.

Very informative. Had knee replacement and Dr. Wolfe Explained the surgery completely. Told me to do all the necessary exercises before surgery to prepare me for what was to come after surgery. Very good follow up.

Dr. Wolfe is very personable, professional and caring. He gave plenty of time for questions and concerns. I had a knee replacement and it was very successful. I did do the presurgery exercises as advised and took seriously the physical therapy in recovery.

Dr Wolfe provided me with a full knee replacement 12/10/19. He was very clear and forthcoming with what would be my experience every step of the way. He clearly detailed out the process and recovery phases. I have nothing but positive feedback for the work he performed and his professionalism.

Dr Wolfe was very personable and patient. He explained the issue with my knee and then helped me sort through the options. I decided on total knee replacement. This procedure went exceedingly well. I was very impressed by the effectiveness and caring from ALL the members of the staff at Shoreline Orthopaedics...even though they are a large practice with several doctors, I never felt like just a number or one of the many. I would highly recommend Dr Wolfe.

Found Dr. Wolfe to have a poor bedside manner. Little to no information post surgery about expectations and care. Not misinformation, just none. We did not communicate well together. Surgery did not go as well as expected and was difficult to reach him.

Was very quick to assume due to being overweight that I did not workout and could not recover from ACL and meniscus surgery I found a different surgeon and I've had two successful surgery since and continue to be active

Knows what he is talking about, but is insensitive. Kind of rude when he is busy.
