Did not care
I waited about 25 minutes for my appointment. Then I was in and out so fast I got whiplash. He did not even ask about my side effects. On top of that he would not fill out my short term disability paperwork.

Terrible bed side manner
Hands down the worst Dr I have ever encountered. Rude. Arrogant. Flung the door open, didn’t even bother greeting us. Got the feeling that he would rather be anywhere else than helping us. Was wearing dirty clothes and hiking shoes like he just ran down the mountain. Didn’t bother to tell us what’s going on. Typed in his computer the whole time and said “I’m not going to answer your questions until you come back in 2 weeks”. I would recommend seeing ANYONE ELSE.

Dedicated to the patients
literally saved my life and stopped me from becoming paralyzed from the waist down in August of 2024 by identifying I had MRSA in a knee and in my spine after it was missed by other doctors. His communication skills are lacking but he knows his stuff, and if I ever have another infection this is the doctor I will turn to fist!

Rude, and arrogant, Not helpful, waste of time
First of all he did not knock but flung the door open almost hitting us. He did not introduce himself, walked in to the room, sat at the desk and put his head in his hands. Then he said to my child ' so..... what's your problem?' When I tried to add to my child's history he put his hand up and basically told me not to talk. I work in the medical field and have a chronically ill child. We spend a lot of time with doctors and I have never encountered such a rude clinician. He did not offer any good information or any help. Needless to say we will not be back and will be following up at the University of Utah instead.

When I had my appointment with him he walked in screaming and humiliating me in front of his medical assistant saying why didn’t I had done my labs, I felt humiliated and looked down on. I understand it was my fault for not getting my labs done prior but that’s no way to talk to your patients or any human being for that matter. Please do your research and find out who your future doctor is so this never happens to you.

My Experience was Very Good
Well, I have to say after reading these other reviews, that my experience was very good. Not only was he knowledgeable, but he talked to us at my level and was never condescending. He answered all of our questions in a very personal, but professional way. He was very encouraging and optimistic. We felt like friends, and came recommended from a top-tier respected orthopedics group. We were not disappointed. His nurse was also, warm and personable.

Hands down the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. Terrible communication skills, he talked down to me and could not give me clear answers to any of my basic questions. These are questions directly related to his "area of expertise", such as interpretation of lab results. I had 2 phone appointments where I called and he hadn't even seen my lab results that were taken by a home nurse. I was still charged for those "visits" even though he had absolutely nothing to offer or to say about the life threatening infection I was dealing with. On the 3rd visit he couldn't even tell me what any of the results meant. I was able to talk with retired nurses I know and they were able to tell me what each meant in terms of my health and my progress. This doctor offered literally nothing. Nothing but prescribing extremely expensive drugs that resulted in massive bills that were billed by his office. Obviously a conflict of interest there. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this doctor.

When I had a failed infusion treatment, I asked "Do I still have infection". He replied, "I don't care" and walked off! This guy would not even make a good vet. He would be bitten by every dog and scratched by every cat!! Advice: find a humane infectious disease doctor.

He is very difficult to talk with. And a huge phone hog (bully). Sounds as if he is well versed in his field but lacks bed side manner, which is hard to take when treated so well by the rest of the staff, to include nurses , doctors, food and cleaning crew.

Sorry to say that this man is truly rude, arrogant not at all attentive to patient, even calls the patient a liar. Won't adjust antibotics without be pushed by others. He is non reactive to my concerns as a patient. if I stay with him I will die. he has a great infusion staff, however the front desk leaves a lot to be desired, as they can be rude and arguemenitve. This man can take a long walk off a short pier. How can one Dr have so many negative complaints that he dosen't change, from my perspective he gives other good doctors a bad name. I doubt that anything will be done to this joke of a man, but at least maybe others won't have to deal with suck arrogance, rudeness and lack caring or care.

It's interesting to see the other comments here - my experience was very similar. Such a waste of time and this guy was so rude and condescending. I was sent by my primary because of some lab work and Dr. Trachtenberg spoke to me like I was an idiot and proceeded to tell me that nothing was wrong with me. I finally told him he that we weren't getting anywhere and I wasn't going to be spoken to in that manner and left. Wish I hadn't spent $ on a copay for this guy.

To be absolutely honest. This Dr. is a huge jerk. He is brash, arrogant, and rude. He has no compassion and doesn't seem like he should deal with people in general let alone as a physician. Go see Dr. Oliver his partner who is 100x better than this waste of a white coat.

I was sent to Dr Trachtenjerk by my General Practitioner after receiving a positive result on a blood test. Dr. Trachtenjerk sat and told me that I was not having the symptoms I was having, and that the blood test didn't really verify anything. I was then really curious as to why I had to take time off from my job and waste half my day to deal with this guy. I didn't request to come see Dr. Trachtenjerk, I was sent after receiving my lab results. Ended up being cured by a real doctor.

**WASTED 1-1.5 HRS OF MY LIFE!!** I was referred to him by my midwife because my labs showed positive as a carrier for Hep B. He kept me waiting in the room for half an hour, and than when he arrived...stated the last time he treated a PREGNANT woman with Hep B was 2 years ago. And for the next half hour spent the entire time on his LAPTOP, googling medical journals and giving me counsel and feedback off articles. The bill was $250!! I could have googled same stuff for FREE! joke.
