Joel Shenker is a rude individual. When I first met with him at the clinic to discuss my symptoms, he told me that these symptoms would just become my new normal. He gave this statement prior to testing me or even finding a cause of my symptoms. He had given up before even trying.

We will never go back to Joel Shenker. He is rude, condescending and disrespectful. I’m pretty sure he had us wait for over an hour just for fun as we where the only people in the building and where a half hour early anf still waited 2 hours. He hardly cared enough to listen and just said to everything we asked it’s nothing really his problem. My mom is in a wheelchair she’s recovering from GBS a neurological disorder anf he feels like it’s a waist of his time? Maybe he should retire as it would seem he expects to be paid to do nothing. When I commented about it he was again rude and disrespectful so yes I’m sure he was just making us wait for him as a power trip. I’ll add my moms literally throwing up from nerve issues of her stomach. I understand they maybe it’s not something he is able to fix but it would be nice if our neurologist would be more concerned about the recovery of someone whose life was changed by a neurological disorder.

We would highly recommend Dr. Shenker. He was through and took time to explain what the symptoms meant and what additional test were necessary and why. Our concerns dealt with dementia and Parkinson’s. His concern about the symptoms were evident. We left the office feeling very confident and relieved with our choice of him as our neurologist.

Very thorough. Very good with patient and family. Explains details. Asks if patient or family have questions. Seems to really care about his patients. Definitely patient-centric care.
