Dr. Joel Fechisin, MD

I have never had a negative experience at this practice until recently. This doctor came off as condescending and rude. I felt like I was a bother for being there. I was cut off several times while trying to answer his questions. I will follow the plan I was given because I will try anything that will help with the pain I’ve been in. However, I will gladly be looking for a different doctor in the practice that has better bedside manners.

If i could give zero stars i would! I saw Dr. Fechisin about my avn that showed up in my knee during a full body MRI i had in NYC. He was extremely condescending, acting like he didn’t believe my diagnosis even though i had both hips replaced for the same thing. Proceeded to essentially contradict my hip surgeon (mind you he is a knee surgeon) about my recovery and what i should be allowed to do activity wise. He was unable to READ my X-ray as he saw nothing in the one done at his office. He then proceeded to lie to me about the fact that there are joint preserving procedures for knees, honestly a quick google search AND my avn support group with actual people who have had core decompressions and bone graft to slow down their avn clearly contradicted him. If he doesn’t know about my disease or the procedures that can be done for it he should have just referred me out instead of being a complete condescending jerk. Seems to have absolutely no interest in the patient - barely asks about the patient's well-being. You are just a number and a means to the end of his fat paycheck - spends less than five minutes per visit.

Can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Fetchison. He' caring, takes his time explaining and making sure all questions/concerns have been addressed. Thank you for my new knee!!

Dr. Fechisin provided instructions for continuing knee excercises, informed me to check with my primary care physician for a specific OTC supplement I started using, and said that I should call him for any problems or questions I may have in the future.

Extremely positive interaction with Dr Fechisin in both my interactions. Came to him unable to walk because of severe pain in my knee. He explained what was needed, was reassuring and confident and within 6 weeks I am pain free and I was given an honest appraisal of what needs to be done to manage the arthritis. He takes the time to answer all your questions and explains all the options that are available for your specific problem.

Dr Fechisin seems very knowledgeable but doesn’t have such a good bed side manner .Upon going back with a swollen knee he didn’t even try to take a look at my knee, just said time to do an MRI . He is very cut and dry.

Dr. Fechisin is a fantastic doctor. His bedside manners are fantastic and his staff is always friendly. It’s always a pleasure to see such kind and caring staff. Now we just need to work on the front desk group. It’s so easy to be kind and friendly and great people with a smile. ??

Dr Fechisan is courteous and caring . Always listens attentively to your concerns , he never rushes you into any procedures , he leaves the decision up to you . And all his staff is friendly everyone makes you feel comfortable.
