When we realized my blood work results (taken in the Wytheville office) looked suspiciously erroneous, we could not get anyone to return our call. Thus, we went to Blacksburg (without an appointment) & met with Dr. Young. She also had no explanation, so she had all new blood work done, and even had my 1st phlebotomy done. She seemed highly concerned that something must have gone wrong while she was on vacation. There is definitely a communication problem from your centralized operators. They even thought Dr. Young was a man!!! When we finally got thru to the nurse Misty, she even said we could talk about the situation during our scheduled appointment, which was a whole week away. This was not acceptable to us……as we were reading these erroneous blood results. We wanted answers quickly based on these bad numbers! We’ve never heard of this mixup happening before. Dr. Y restored our faith & confidence in BR Oncology. Based on the new results received today, we were correct.

She called me from her home because she wanted me to know the results of my recent biopsy. She did this while sick with COVID which in my opinion goes beyond normal care.

I met Dr. Young on my first visit to Blue Ridge Cancer Center. I was pleasantly surprised by her warm and friendly demeanor which instantly put me at ease. She explained the process of patient care with a team. She also listened to my concerns and answered my questions.
